We stayed in the lodges accommodation which are modern and comfortable. Food in the Hermione restaurant was delicious with plenty of options. The staff are so friendly I cannot afford this gorgeous hidden gem

The place is beautiful and the castle is just beautiful to look at . I was a little disappointed with my lodge as not really a lodge like you see in the photos online as it was a lodge that was divided into 4 seperate rooms so really just a hotel like room . But it was a lovely room

Terrible staff, non working appliances in the room, terrible bathroom. I just don't see anything redeemable about this property other than the grounds. This is soooo not worth the price. I wouldn't stay here for free which is saying a lot. It's apparently developed by a builder in the US. I am not sure what he's building in the US but he certainly did not build a nice property here despite all the potential.

Fantastic stay

First of all everyone of staff was so fantastic made or stay so excellent. So far the best luxury stay we have had loved it and sorry we couldn't stay more time here the lodge was so clean , well luxury decorated. Would recommend kilkea castle hotel for all . Beautiful place .

Beautiful castle and grounds but weak infrastructu

Despite the ‘Lodges’ name, these units are more like motel suites than picturesque lodges. The furniture is neither updated modern nor classic- just dated. The bathrooms have not been renovated and the facilities are mediocre. The castle is beautiful structurally but poorly curated. Food and service at the Cadtle dining room was good. Food service at the Lodge dining room was erratic, slow and below standard. Great potential with poor execution.

Room was perfect for my needs. The hotel grounds are just stunning Breakfast in a castle is pretty top tier! Good options for breakfast and everything was well cooked and delicious, had more a bed and breakfast feels rather than hotel with more intimate table service. I would have preferred better quality and more options with bread, rather than low quality white and brown sliced for toast that was served. I did feel this let down the breakfast. This is the only reason I dropped a star.

Beautiful castle with lovely pleasent, helpful staff. We stayed 1 night & had an excellent dinner & breakfast in the 1180 Restauant. However for a 5 star hotel I was a little dissapointed with a few things: We went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink and there was only one waiter behind the bar & no floor service, one had to queue at the bar for a drink & carry it back to the table. The overall lodge decor felt a bit dated. The kitchen was well enough stocked but it & the lounge area was very dull. Dispite a large picture window, here was only 1 small window for ventilation & this appeared sealed so we had to open the door to the terrace. It was nice that the bedroom had french doors which lead to the terrace, as well as the living room. The bed was big, very comfortable & good pillows. The room had a charming garden view. Regarding facilities; I had to request a bathrobe & slippers which should have been provided. The bathrobe was synthetic & not good quality. There are no hooks in the bedroom or bathroom so I could not hang the robe anywhere. There were no chairs in the bedroom either (just a wee stool) so we had no-where to put clothes at night. I had to put the bed throw on the floor as no place to put it, so not very hygenic.
