One night stay
A very pleasant stay. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Only negative was shower performance was poor. We found the duvet a bit heavy for summer but that's our personal preference. Evening meal was very nice and reasonably priced.
Quiet little town, hotel was a great location to walk around and explore. It looked like the room had recently been renovated with new carpet and paint. Highly recommend for an overnight stop.
We had a lively stay. The rooms are above a pub and restaurant. It was very quiet and relaxing in the room with good amenities. The staff weere welcoming and friendly on arrival. The breakfast was liveky and plentiful, the chef was very cheerful and made us feel at ease. The porridge is yummy. Yhe pub has sky and a massive beer garden. The pub is dog friendly a d has sky tv
Very clean and comfortable. A bit noisy from the bar around late afternoon, early evening, but not late in the evening. Lovely staff, great breakfast, excellent location.
We were booked in for a 3 night stay, but unfortunately due to illness had to curtail our visit. However, in the short time we were there, the hotel/bar staff were very pleasant & helpful. The dinner was very good and the bed was very comfortable. The Garret was in a convenient position for a walk around the town/harbour etc.
We fully intend to return to complete our visit to the lovely area.
A lot of our issues were our own. We arrived too early to check in on a holiday so there was nothing open where we could pass the time. Our room was on the third floor and my husband just had surgery so I had to schlep the heavy bags up the stairs. That's all on us. Even the loud pub guests exiting and waking us up is understandable.
The bed, however, might as well have been a bag of cats. Very lumpy and uncomfortable.
The good news was the delightfully friendly staff and delicious breakfast before we left. And it was only one night so anyone can survive a bag of cats for 1 night.
Wonderful full breakfast available in the dining room, and a lively pub and beer garden adjacent to the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderful time!
Lovely, cosy little hotel with B&B vibe. Bed extremely comfortable; well-sized bathroom. Very quiet (don't worry about the bar downstairs). Excellent location in the heart of wonderful Kirkcudbright. Very helpful and friendly staff. Delicious, generous breakfast too. Will recommend to friends and family, and hope to stay here again.
Great stay in Kirkudbright, helped by amazing weather.
Hotel staff brilliant, very friendly and helpful.
Wr had a twin bedded room. The beds were a bit springy and the one was up against a wall, but we slept well. Excellent breakfast, well cooked and good coffee as well.
Only downside, but only sleight was the bathroom, which was tiny. I am both tall and wide and the shower was a very tight fit.
With good weather, to sit in the garden was lovely.
Breakfast and dinner were excellent although the last orders for dinner is a little early at 7.45 pm. Excellent Wi-Fi. What did let the place down was that you could only open the bedroom window by a tiny amount. It was ridiculously hot in the bedroom and like sleeping in a sauna. We hardly got any sleep as a result. The bedroom didn’t cool down much during the night because you couldn’t open the window very much.
Soweit einwandfrei (Zi.3), ruhig gelegen und recht bequeme Betten. Das Frühstück war einwandfrei und man konnte zwischen verschiedenen Variante. Auswählen.
The room is basic but it’s clean. The shower is small. The pub is the main business, the rooms being an add on. The pub food is well priced but they stop serving early, at 7 in the evening when I went. In fact everything seems to close early. The pub was shut by 1030. The Garret is central, with everything in easy walking distance and easy parking on the street.
The Garret is a little gem in a beautiful town. Friendly service and attention to small detail to make you feel part of the family. Good wholesome food which is reasonably priced and will appeal to families. Bright and comfortable rooms. Definitely worth a visit.
