Self check in with info on a chalk board. Initially didn’t see the board and no one around.
Didn’t meet anyone in person during stay.
Room wasn’t that clean. Cobwebs and dust, old water bottle down back of bed, nuts on the carpet. Shower gels on top of shower.
Nice setting, safe and quiet. Nice cafe downstairs.
Room was spacious with character.

Never met any staff from the lodge, but checkin was easy. Room (stag room) was tiny as!! Photos didn’t portray that. Lots of space for car parking which was good. Our room was tired looking when we saw & were able to compare it to some of the other rooms there. Breakfast was included and was minimal with a couple if cereal choices and milk. There was a loaf of bread there but we chose not to use it - it was in the communal kitchen area. We were hardly there anyway, so that was fortunate. We’d give it about a 6.5 out of 10. Because our room was so cramped (it was a double bed room) we’d likely not stay there again. It has more of a backpacker vibe to it…
Great hosts, beautiful location. The accommodation is a fantastic conversion and the rooms are very nice. Free Breakfast is handy if you want something quick or if you’re willing to go spend some money in the cafe I’d recommend it as the food and atmosphere is lovely.
What a fantastic jewel of a find! Gareth & his staff were so welcoming. Our room was one of the smaller ones but spotless & all we needed for 2 nights, with a great fancy, modern en suite shower. Outside caterers on the Friday night provided fantastic food & the Wee Bear Cafe provides superb home made fayre during the day. Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay.
A quiet and picturesque location with comfortable accommodation and attentive hosts. A morning walk around the nearby loch was exhilarating. The cafe serves; meals, drinks and a large selection delicious fresh cakes. Dog water bowls provided.
Nice lodge, spacious family room. Very quiet location. Only disappointment is Hotels.com advertised it as providing full breakfast but basically you were given access to a communal kitchen where cereal, toast, jam, juice cartons and some fruits were self service. We didn't mind so much but others who are expecting a proper fry up breakfast may be dissatisfied.

Lots of parking , good WiFi and quiet . Lovely location but just needs a bit more attention . I was the only customer and the cleaner wizzed in before I arrived sadly not actually cleaning or removing rubbish from communal area . The bin in the kitchen was full and should have been emptied prior to my arrival . The radiator in my room didn’t work and although there was an oil filled radiator it’s not ideal in a small room due to risk of hitting yourself on it. I couldn’t find a hair dryer when I needed it on the morning of departure.
The help yourself breakfast was ok although I’m not keen on using opened milk as you’re not certain how it’s been dealt with previously especially when it’s up on the day . I couldn’t see any drying cloths so had to leave items to drain as had previous occupant.
Spoke to Lodge beforehand as we were turnng up very late. All very accomodating.
Bed felt as though it was sloping down and my husband felt he was about to fall off when turning over. Other than that the room wasvery comfortable and certaiyvadequate for what we were after.
Breakfast is basic cereals, coffee, tea and toast available on a DIY basis in guest kitchen lounge area. Although Wee Bear Cafe is available for foid etc after 1000, which is after check out at 0930.
There was a mix up between the website and the lodge. Check in is 4pm on wards. Checkout is 9.30 not 11am. No full breakfast only self service breakfast and access to some items.
Location is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Gareth is lovely and friendly and helpful. Room was the small room but perfect for what we needed. We had a lovely staff. Explained to Gareth the mix up with hotels.com and said worth checking the details.

Would highly recommend checking with the property agent that the booking is valid when you book.
I booked this last minute. Arrived at the attached cafe ( which I’d highly recommend) a couple of hours before check-in only to be informed that the rooms had already all been booked.
Was given no help whatsoever by the unprofessional property owner who I’m assuming brought her very young child to avoid any escalation and just told us to take our anger out on Expedia.
We were also told by herself and another member of staff that this wasn’t the first time this had happened.
Over a week later she still hasn’t confirmed we were turned away at the property leaving us hanging on getting a refund.
Luckily Expedias staff expedited our request for a refund but the whole ordeal has left a sour taste.

Lovely location.
Beds were comfortable.
Breakfast included was a help yourself in a self service galley kitchen. Difficult when everyone has to be out at 10am. Four different couples all trying to get in to as small.
I can definitely recommend the Wandering Bear Cafe. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere.
The manager has recently taken over, is fully aware of issues, therefore it's a work in progress and he welcomes feed back.
We arrived at a difficult time. Congratulations on your new baby. We look forward to seeing the progress and would stay again.
