Another great vacation in Duck; love this little cottage in Sea Sound Village. Great location to the beach and sound.
The porch was great for morning coffee and evening libations.
Overall this property was just okay. The house is in a great location, and a very short walk to the beach. The house was a good size for our small family of 3, but if you had more than 2 adults, I think it would be cramped. The outdoor shower with warm water was actually really nice, especially for cleaning off our 1.5 year old after spending our days at the beach. Some of the negative things that stood out to us..the bathroom, it had a terrible pee like smell the whole week and the shower curtain was covered in mold. The kitchen cookware was doable, but we had to go buy our own cooking pan. The pans that they had there were awful and in my opinion unusable. The AC vent must’ve been leaking condensation from the ceiling, so we dealt with water spots in the hallway most of the week. Again, it wasn’t a huge deal, but more of an annoyance than anything. This house has so much potential, and with just a few small things it could be amazing. I will also mention, that if the front door was repainted (looks moldy), it would definitely give a better first impression. Overall, we had an amazing vacation per usual, we always love coming to OBX!
Everything as advertised, close to Beach and Dining
Very clean and good amenities, two items that should be considered, The Bathroom light fixture worked intermittently, I think it’s a wiring problem, Also would be a great idea to wash down, and paint the front door, it has mould growing on it, and spoils the overall effect of the property, John Warren.
Property is in great location and comfortable…a couple issues included a ceiling leak in hall and a smell of dampness and perhaps mold. Also it is a property that does not offer what we typically experience when renting..for example two rolls of to for a three bedroom house..one paper towel, no napkins, spices, coffee, any cooking essentials, no hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner…etc. it is a bare rental so pack accordingly.

Flooded mess
The property was a flooded mess. Tadpoles in the water so it had been stagnant for a while. Had to walk through the stagnant water in order to climb the stairs to the door. It was the only property on the street that was flooded. It's close to the ocean which was a plus. It has an updated interior with enough room for a family for a short stay. Strange that they don't wash the duvets or make beds. They allowed dogs which was the reason we chose this but I would not have if I'd known about the entrance.
Overall we had a lovely week in Duck. Great location and short walk to beach. The house is as advertised, kind of old school beach house which worked for our small group of 3. The cottage can easily sleep 6 or 7 but only one bathroom and very small kitchen. Nice deck and outdoor shower. Pet friendly. The kitchen could use a few things but made it work. And the bathroom would be lovely if owners or agency provided a shower mat. Not my 1st rodeo so I brought my own. Had one issue with no mattress pad for King bed, Seaside took care of promptly. Very close to bike and walking paths to Duck village. Main road in and out (route 12) weekend traffic same as its been forever.
