I could hear everything: conversations, coughs, a man softly whispering “no, not again” at 3:12 a.m. At one point I’m fairly certain someone in the next room sneezed and I instinctively said “bless you”… and they said “thank you.” We never met. I wish we had. Now, the shower. Oh, the shower. Imagine being pressure-washed by a well-meaning ghost who’s slightly angry at your pores. The water pressure was so intense it didn’t just rinse off the day—it removed a layer of identity. I came out cleaner, yes, but also unsure of who I was before I stepped in. Five stars for exfoliation, mild concern for structural integrity of skin. The room itself had a charmingly aged vibe, like it had seen things. The cracked walls weren’t just cosmetic—they felt… intentional. Like the building was trying to remember something and almost succeeding. I spent a good hour staring at one particularly long crack that looked like a map of somewhere I shouldn’t go. It seemed longer at night. And yet—*the staff*. Absolute angels. Warm, welcoming, genuinely kind. The kind of people who smile at you in a way that says, “Yes, we know. We’re so sorry. "The property itself was easy to find. Check In was at a bar counter where I was just given a key and pointed in the direction to go, I did check in late. There was nothing in the room with the WiFi password, we were missing a TV remote so we had no way to turn it on, and the room itself had one clean bed and one bed that we couldn’t even sleep in because of the sheer amount of dog hair covering everything. They are working on updating the rooms which is great but the overall cleanliness of the room was way below standard. The one advantage was free breakfast and that more they were very polite. Made them breakfast fresh for us and fueled us for the road! "
