The building is a beautiful architecture and the view from the room is unbeatable We followed GPS to drive there but found 2 of the suggested routes were blocked because of snow. We spent more than four hours to get there from Hakodate. It would be better if the hotel could message us the road condition. The hotel has spa and tea ceremony but we could not find any price list and booking guidelines until we checked with the staff after dinner. To our disappointment, the spa was fully booked by the time we asked. No introduction on the arrangement of the tea ceremony neither. We had high expectations at this place in terms of service with the price we paid so a bit disappointed

お部屋、お風呂、お食事、すべて素晴らしかったです。連泊したときにアメニティを補充してくださるのも嬉しいです。 強いていえば、これだけ隠れ家的な宿なのに子禁じゃないのなら、食事処の個室の密閉度を上げてほしいです。ドアを閉めても子供の声がうるさく、中には開けっ放しで出入りするスタッフもいました。

Magical stay in a modern Ryokan

From the moment you check in to the moment you depart, everything down to the smallest detail has been well thought out to ensure you have a relaxing and wonderful stay. Zaborin is simply serene, set on a large estate surrounded by woods and snow, with breathtaking views of Mt Yotei on a clear day. Breakfast and dinner each day were such a new and fun adventure for us, trying all the local variations of seasonal produce. There's also something very special about soaking in a private outdoor onsen while watching snow fall silently into the woods, after a long day skiing at Niseko, and cracking open a beer too! The Zaborin valets shuttle you back at your request (only a short 5 min from Hanazono ski resort or about 15min to Hirafu). Each villa is very private with no common walls, spacious and well set out. We loved staying in the Japanese style rooms with our beds as big fluffy futons on tatami mats - this is simply one of the most comfortable sleeps we have had ever!! We will absolutely return one day to stay at Zaborin!

Gorgeous property but service needs to be improved

My 2nd visit. Gorgeous ryokan, secluded but decked with the most upscale luxury amenities. Loved the private Onsen baths, heated floorings and the fantastic daily Kaiseki meals. Almost perfect stay had it not been for service levels. For the price tag of the stay, one would expect better service levels. Generally the response time on requests is slow. Also the hotel car was not allowed for use even to nearby Hirafu. I measure a property’s service standards by its ability to respond to customised requests of its guests. And zaborin really fell short on this front.

国内滞在ではトップ３に間違いなく入る。温泉がすばらしい。独特の香りがあり、茶色っぽい色で、それがともかく気持ちがよい。ちょっとぬる目の湯加減で、春先といえ北海道は寒いので、露天風呂は何時間でも入っていられるほどよかった。このお風呂に入るために言ったといっても過言でない。翌朝は快晴で日の出からくっきりと羊蹄山が眺められた。部屋もよかったがパブリックスペースがどこも落ち着けてよかった。１５室しかないので、どこに行っても他のゲストと出会わないくらいだった。

모던한 느낌의 최고급 료칸

우선 건물이 굉장히 아름답습니다. 객실 인테리어도 훌륭하고 집기 하나하나 고급스럽습니다. 각 방마다 전용 노천탕이 있다고 하는데 온천수가 아주 훌륭 했습니다. 바깥 풍경과 료칸의 건물이 완벽하게 조화를 이룹니다. 이 료칸은 매우 현대적이어서 전통적인 료칸을 선호하는 사람에게는 맞지 않습니다. 석식과 조식이 포함되어 있었는데 시설에 비해 최고는 아닙니다. 다른 료칸도 여러군데 다녀봤는데 그 중 중간이하의 맛이었던것 같습니다. 어느 정도 메인 메뉴를 알려주었다면 돈을 추가해서 식사를 업그레이드 하거나 다른 메뉴를 선택 했을텐데 사전 정보가 전혀 없었습니다. 제공된 식사에 대해서는 솔직히 실망 했습니다... 식당의 의자와 테이블의 높이가 맞지 않아 불편 했고 실내 온도가 너무 높아 덥고 답답했습니다. 체크인 할 때 웰컴티와 다과가 없는 것도 좀 의아 했습니다... 근처 히라후에서 머물다가 이 료칸으로 이동을 했는데 요청을 하니 차량이 마중을 나와주어서 편안 하게 이동했습니다.

Poetry in the Woods

An amazing hotel property. No expense has been spared in creating an elegantly understated, thoughtfully presented space. Even the water tap seened custom made.Lots of great art pieces around the space. The aesthetic is poetic and effect is soothing. Very zen. Would love to go back for another visit.

大自然の中に佇む、禅とアートを感じる素晴らしいお宿

羊蹄山をはじめとするニセコの山々を一望できる素晴らしい風景が、 お部屋からも客室露天風呂からも寝室からも望めました。 客室露天風呂、内湯ともに源泉掛け流しのとてもよいお湯で、滞在中何度も入りました。 見える風景が時間によって刻一刻とかわり、白樺の林や残雪が北海道らしく、晴れていたので星もよく見えました。 寝室からは明け方に、遠くの雪山に綺麗なグラデーションの日の出がみえ、感動しました。 美術館のような建築、内装は、隅々までこだわりぬかれ、伝統とモダンが絶妙に混じり合い洗練された空間が大自然と調和し、大変素晴らしかったです。 アメニティー、室内着など、すべてにこだわられていて、 ロビーにある書斎に並んだ本からは、坐忘林さんのスピリットを感じることができました。 夕食のキタカイセキは、器、素材、盛り付け、お味のすべてが繊細で美しく心のこもったもので、お食事用の個室からも敷地内の池や遠くの山が見え、その風景とリンクした残雪を表現されたお食事などとても楽しめました。 周辺には施設やお店など出かける場所はなかったですが、お宿の中だけで十分満喫することができました。 接客もぬかりなく、気持ちよく滞在させていただきました。 禅やアートを感じる素晴らしいお宿でした。 また違う季節にもぜひ訪れてみたいと思います。
