As the fall colors continue to show their brilliance the high country of Colorado slowly turns to a golden brown waiting for the first snows of winter. Uncompagre Peak 14,309’ is located just west of Lake City CO, it’s neighbor Wetterhorn Peak 14,015’ make and epic fall trip. It’s possible to drive 4wd to both trailheads and cut across country between the peaks for an epic day in the high country. Be aware that Wetterhorn has severe exposure and it’s required that you have some climbing ability to reach the summit.

It was ok. Everything was closing for the season despite it being colors weekend. Places that were open were out of ingredients or certain drinks. Many places were under staffed. Creede was great. Strongly recommend Climb Eatery it was amazing.
