Waking up to breathtaking views of Lake Hayes, framed by snow-capped mountains and the beautiful grounds at Stoneridge Estate, was truly unforgettable during our stay at the “Wakatipu” Retreat.
From the complimentary cheese and wine boards to the thoughtful turndown service, delicious breakfast and exceptionally attentive staff, every detail made our stay feel incredibly special.
We’ll definitely be back for another getaway.
An incredible experience. We could not fault our stay at all. It is so well situated to Queenstown & Arrowtown, the views are stunning, the buildings are jaw dropping & grand. The staff are above and beyond. Always welcoming and go out of there way to may you feel at home. Stonridge is our favourite place to stay when visiting the area.
The room was gorgeous, extremely clean and incredibly comfortable. The staff where all so sweet and helpful and the breakfasts provides where delicious. This was such a special place to stay, highly reccomend.
We loved our stay at Stoneridge Estate. Our room was top notch with gorgeous views. The staff were so friendly, warm and welcoming. The breakfast each morning was delicious and served in the most charming room. We only wish we had more time to spend at this incredible estate.
Great room. Couldn’t recommend enough for a wonderful experience.
Staff (especially Daniel) went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He was so flexible and kind.
An amazing place to stay to end a week long road trip around Otago and Southland. Stunning views from every vantage point and the staff were all amazing as well. Would definitely stay again in the future.
The staff was lovely and gave us several helpful tips for activities during our stay. The room was spacious and though a bit on the traditional side in terms of aesthetic, had great modern amenities like a heated bed, heated towel rack, awesome dual-head shower, etc. The views were beautiful and we enjoyed the morning breakfast and afternoon snack/wine. We would definitely recommend!!
It was great! Staff are super lovely and attentive, the breakfasts were delicious, the dinner was one of the best meals we had our entire trip. The only weird thing is the way the property are set up. It's actually two hotels, Stoneridge Lodge and Stoneridge Retreat and if you're staying at one you're not allowed to access the pool or common areas in the other which is not really made clear but it did not affect the enjoyment of our stay. We would stay again for sure.
This is a beautiful property! We adored the room and the view! We had great service the first day and then unfortunately it went down from there. It could be because there were events there the other days of our stay, so they were spread thin since they are a small staff. Definitely unfortunate but the estate is beautiful regardless.
Wonderful stay! Staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and relaxing. The estate is situated outside of Queenstown proper ~20 mins from the airport, on a hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding Lake Hayes area. They plussed up the experience with an evening cheese board and glass of their house Pinot Rose, just 👌. The property amenities read that there is airport transport which is not accurate, but it is easy to get a rideshare/taxi out to the property. If staying at the estate consider booking a dinner at the near by Amisfield restaurant for a Michelin Star worthy experience.
Almost everything about the property was excellent. Great check in and the rooms were lovely.
The only concerning thing was that we were in the Retreat Suite and at around 830 in the morning the groundskeeper walked across the outside window of our room to use the hose. The windows are floor to ceiling and you can see into the rooms even when the blinds are down. We were half dressed. I feel this is an extreme invasion of privacy and I wouldn’t expect this type of act at a five star property. He walked across again around 11 even though we had a late check out at noon. When there are guests staying in that room, I would recommend that there isn’t any activity near those windows in the morning hours as there could be people in different states of undress as they get ready to check out.
Pulling up to this estate feels like you are in a movie! The building and rooms are so gorgeous and well maintained, we felt like royalty! Especially the breakfast, it was incredible and the best included breakfast of any hotel I have been to!
