"LOVE the back yard. Love that you can sit in the sun OR in the shade, both are available. REALLY enjoyed the paddle boat and walking around the neighbourhood and doing yoga outside. The area is absolutely beautiful."

"My husband and I stayed at this lakeside retreat in early May. Our son in law's family have a cottage down the road. While we spent most of our day in the other cottage, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Lakeside retreat. It is very well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed working on a few puzzles and listening to music on the Google Home Sound system. We hope to come again one day with our granddaughters and swim in the Medway river and Ponhook lake."

"Had my bday getaway with friends here it was awesome even in the winter. Says up to 6 guests and we had 5 and it was very crowded, not enoigh dinner table seats for everyone and living room seating was not for us all to sit and watch tv. Other than that it was great thoigh! "

"We had a great stay from August 20-27. We chose this spot as it was close to family in the area and we wanted to be able to base ourselves close to them while also being within an hour or so of a lot of Halifax, Peggy's Cove, etc. The cottage was a great size, with lots of space for our family to relax and spread out. The kitchen was very well-appointed. The outdoor space was just wonderful - we enjoyed a campfire almost every night, and during the day the kids spent hours in the paddleboat checking out the shoreline. If we are back in the area, we will definitely check to see if this cottage is available!"

"The property is netled in the trees by a beautiful lake. You can enjoy your morning coffee steps from the water and watch the deer graze on the lawn in the evening. Cathy is very easy to communicate with. The home is cozy and well equipped. A lovely place to relax. "

"Upon booking we did not realize the cottage was off grid. However, the host was good about explaining how to manage the solar power and generator. We arrived at dusk and found it hard to navigate our way through the trees and multiple turns to get to the cottage. It is a unique location on a beautiful lake. Unfortunately we were there during a heatwave, the lack of fans or AC made it unbearable and we left after one night. Another deciding factor of our early departure were a multitude of spiders, mosquitoes and cobwebs that were even more evident in the morning light. So many cobwebs under the beds made it impossible to relax. Our 4 year old granddaughter would not last another night there with the spiders/crawling bugs that kept coming to her bed. Also when we tried to close blinds to keep the sunlight out, the blinds were covered in dust/webs and spotted with mould. We informed the host of our early departure due to the heat and he was sympathetic and kindly offered to return some of the rental fee. We stripped the beds, removed garbage, swept the floors and left the property as directed. It has been two weeks since we left and we sent them a message but did not receive a response. We recognize the host offered to return some funds out of kindness but as of yet has not followed through. Our advice to the host is to provide fans, update generator instructions, do a more thorough cleaning. Offgrid does not have to be uncomfortable but should more obvious in the listing"
