Summer getaway

We enjoyed our stay, lovely amenities, a fire pit and a grill. We were very happy to also meet the animals running around.

Relaxing getaway

We headed to the Lanesboro area for a little r & r; discovered Sheldon and Andrea’s place, and it was the perfect retreat for what we needed! Clean, comfortable, well-appointed and an idyllic place to unwind!

What a great place, everything was perfect and Sheldon and Andrea were very nice and lovely hosts.Beyond charming, their guest house is so comfortable. We slept great, and there’s ample room in the kitchen to make meals.The location is wonderful and so quiet and meeting Kadi, Molly and the rescue animals was a treat.Highly recommended and we hope to come back!

Great quiet escape. In the country

The cottage is a cozy quiet place in the country tucked in Amish country. The cottage well stocked and nicely decorated. The ceiling in the loft is very low, but otherwise a great stay.

Terrific place with wonderful people!

The bunkhouse was decorated so tastefully and had everything we could possibly want. The owners are very sweet and the property was welcoming and immaculate. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Country School Guest House! Andrea and Sheldon were warm and welcoming! We truly enjoyed our visits in the yard. We loved hearing about the house and rescue animals. Kadi and Molly (the host’s rescue dogs) were happy to visit with us each morning and evening after our biking adventures! We look forward to our next visit!

Clean, cozy and beautifully decorated. Well stocked kitchen and bathroom. Extra blankets, firewood and board games. Small extra touches, like a welcome gift, tea and coffee, candy and maps of local attractions. The only drawback is that the loft ceiling is so low that you cannot stand up, and that's where the bedroom is, so no unpacking my suitcase. We were very comfortable and felt welcome :)

Perfect location, wonderful hosts

I had a very relaxing week at this beautiful little farm. It is close to everything I wanted to do: Lanesboro and the theater, excellent restaurants, Amish home shops. And then I could come back to relaxing on the patio and watching the sun set!

Andrea and Sheldon were super great hosts and answered any questions we had quickly. The bunkhouse was very clean and came with everything we needed for a nice stay. The property was close to the Root River Trail where we biked, and it was very relaxing and quiet. The farm animals and pets were nice to be able to pet and interact with. We will most definitely be back.

Highly recommend!

I have stayed in places all over the world Sheldon and Andrea’s place may be one of the best I have ever stayed at. Their bunkhouse is amazing, they are so hospitable and the animals on the property are just the icing on the cake. If you want to feel at home away from home, definitely stay here. We will be going back!

Hobby Farm Charm

We had an incredibly peaceful stay in a delightful place which included everything we could ask for. We enjoyed our visit with Andrea and Sheldon, and they were very responsive to any questions that we had. The weather was not very cooperative for us, but we were still able to enjoy the outdoors sitting sheltered from the rain on the patio.

We loved everything about our stay here. My sister and I grew up in rural Iowa as kids and have been city people for many years now. We wanted a rural experience. The country side was beautiful. The quest house was wonderful. An Amish neighbor had finished the interior, and it could not have been more charming or functional. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the back patio and the rescue animals they keep. Sheldon and Andera were so friendly and accommodating, but yet respected our privacy.

Peaceful retreat

Had an amazing stay at the country school bunkhouse. Andrea and Sheldon are the best hosts ive ever had, very personable, and professional. Their beautiful property is tucked far away in a quiet corner of southeast Minnesota and is a perfect place to get away.

Cozy farm cabin experience

We loved the farm environment, cozy bunk house, and warm hospitality. Though we were looking for just a place to stay, this also served as our entertainment (because we love relaxing outside and adore animals). The bunk house was clean, set up perfectly, and had many more amenities than we ever would’ve expected. We will be back!

Great Little Bunkhouse

Great little place to stay if you’re visiting Lansboro area! We came to town to bike the Root River trail and this place worked out great! Only about 15 min drive to Lansboro. Property has everything you need for a relaxing evening after a day of biking. Hosts are wonderful and friendly! You won’t be disappointed!
