The entrance to this narrow rainforest slot canyon is dark and the water is cold, but it's well worth the adventure to swim on in and check out the waterfall at the back. The canyon is about 100ft (33m) long and ends where a small waterfall rushes in. The water is too deep for standing, and the current is pushing you out, so you'll be swimming upstream on the way in. You can rest on a rock ledge once you get to the falls. Don't forget to look up - ferns, vines and other leafy plants cascade into the canyon from far above. For you movie buffs, a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed here. It happens around the 40 minute mark, after the pirates fall into a gorge while being chased by natives. "Ft Young is always my go to when visiting the island. That being said if you are in the older part of the hotel, getting your luggage around is a challenge as the elevator does not get you to all areas, HOWEVER there is always friendly staff to lend a hand. I was disappointed not to get a room in the new, deluxe part of the hotel. Not sure how I go about getting one. Overall I am pleased with my stay. I would say that service has improved over the years. Helpful, friendly staff"
