Annie's River Retreat-last minute deals, family friendly home, rural/river views

Situated beautifully high up with a view of the South Esk River, and overlooking Meander Valley Road bridge, this detached bright and sunny cottage is located within the beautiful surrounds of Rutherglen Village.

"Annie's" has a beautiful sunny aspect and rural views in a peaceful and quiet setting. With open carport, small garden and lovely big deck overlooking the river, "Annie's" is ready and waiting for you to relax and enjoy!

Located across the road from the historic and picturesque Entally Estate and vineyard, just 12 minutes from Launceston CBD with city bus service.

Enjoy a walk out the back gate and down to the river, abundant with wildlife & birds, even a resident platyplus if you're lucky! On dusk, enjoy feeding our resident wallabies, often with joeys still in their pouch.

Situated close to the picnic areas and walking tracks of Hadspen and Entally House, and nearby local IGA supermarket/takeaways & fuel outlet, post office, newsagent, bottle shop & beauty salon.

A short 8-10 minute drive will take you to:

Quercus Park (home to Agfest Field Days, held in May annually, & numerous events throughout the year)
Country Club Resort and Casino, Prospect

This is an excellent stay. The owners were very helpful and friendly. This stay is well equipped and not far from Launceston. I would highly recommend this stay.

Amazing Tassie experience!

Annie and Ross are the most welcoming hosts! This was our first time to Tassie and Ross had maps and ideas on hand to navigate us around the beautiful countryside! The town of “Launie” was so charming, so good for kids to run and play. The home is a small cottage on the river, with gorgeous views and a perfect back porch to relax. My girls loved the yard full of flowers! The kitchen was perfect for cooking, fully stocked with everything you could ever need. The beds were super comfy. There were plenty of board games, books, WiFi, etc… We honestly didn’t want to leave. When we return to Tassie, we will absolutely return and spend some time back at Annies cottage!

Happy Review

Stay was lovely. Everything we needed. Owners very accommodating and helpful. They were kind enough to ensure there was enough milk for a decent cuppa or two on arrival as I mentioned I like a cuppa so I was in heaven. They also gave us some local knowledge on the roads and bakeries which was very much appreciated.

Cosy Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was spotless, well-equipped, and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere.The attention to detail was wonderful, a comfortable bed, and even a patio to enjoy morning coffee. It was the perfect spot for a peaceful retreat, overlooking a river.I especially appreciated that Ross spent time with us mapping out suggested day trips. I highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a relaxing and charming escape!

Could not be better

Great location, great property and even better hosts. Cottage was comfortable, well supplied and made us feel relaxed. Hosts were awesome, friendly and very helpful which made this our number one holiday of all tine.Was a home away from home and we didn’t want to leave. Great location, friendly hosts

It was a good location for our needs and cosy with everything you would need. Ross contacted us the night before to say we could get in early on the day of our arrival which was lovely. Would definitely recommend this property, and whilst the view is lovely, strange that no one has mentioned the proximity to the bridge and highway which created road noise and lights through the windows at night.

Great little cottage just outside of Launceston

Great little cottage for the price. Ross and Annie were excellent hosts. We were very grateful to Ross for the local advice on how to best spend our time in Launceston and he even have is options for our drive to Bicheno!

Felt right at home!

Annie and Russ made us feel like we belonged in the neighborhood They are right next door and were committed to our comfort. The river flowing by was a plus and while we didn’t get to see any platypus Russ worked his magic and had all the little Roos show up

Cottage with extras

Spacious cottage, very comfortable with a pleasant river view. An easy drive into Launceston. Annie provides a load of extra condiments which were appreciated & enjoyed. Annie & Ross were helpful with their tourism advice.

Tassie Getaway

Annie's Retreat is a gorgeous 2 bedroom cottage with all the amenities needed. Annie and Ross are a lovely couple who takes great care in providing a clean, tidy and presentable property. It is in a lovely location with easy access to tourist locations in the surrounding towns. We highly recommend Annie's Retreat to anyone who is visiting the area.

These hosts are at the top of their game regarding friendliness,communication and making you feel at home.The cottage is quaint and cosy.Every need is catered for just provide your own food essentials.Cookware and utensils and condiments provided.Very cleanand beautiful surrounds will be happy to go back.

Absolutely gorgeous

A gorgeous cottage, so clean and perfect. Lovely verandah to sit and watch the world go by overlooking the river. Lovely hosts are most welcoming and friendly. Very comfortable and cosy. So good we decided to end our last two days holiday there as well a couple of weeks later.

Beautiful, comfortable home with great views.

We love Annie’s home. Very beautiful, clean and comfortable. Annie and Ross had provided everything (and more) that we needed. They let us check in very early and had the room all warmed up when we arrived at the door before 9:30am. They were always very helpful. Thanks Annie and Ross for being such a great host,

Would highly recommend

From the moment we booked, Annie and Ross were amazing hosts. They were in contact with us prior to our stay and during, to make sure everything was ok, if there was anything we needed etc. The cottage is beautiful, clean, warm and cosy, with a stunning view just to add to the stay. There is nothing negative to say about the cottage or hosts, we couldn't recommend this any higher. We will definitely be back.

Annie's Cottage was our favourite accommodation during our week long stay in Tasmania. Everything you need is provided in the Cottage. The beds were very comfy, the pantry was well stocked and Ross even had the house warmed for us before our arrival. The beautiful short private walk to the river allowed us to see a range of wildlife. Both Ross and Annie were very helpful with local knowledge and so friendly. I will definitely be recommending Annie's Cottage to any of my friends visiting Tasmania.
