Pets
Well-behaved pets under 40 lbs are welcome with prior approval- unfortunately due to liability reasons we can't allow pit bulls or rottweilers on this property. Keep in mind we have several neighborhood dogs who are very sweet and love to run around, and occasionally come by to say hello. To keep Driftwood welcoming for all, pets should never be left unattended and are not permitted on furniture (including the outdoor furniture/ daybed), or beds. Also, please do not allow wet dogs inside at any time. :)
Conveniences
Just five minutes from Driftwood, you’ll find a neighborhood grocery stocked with a small selection of foods, produce, or beer and wine for your lakeside evenings. In under ten minutes there are larger grocery stores with more options, or you can instead be savoring a meal or enjoying a drink at one of several local restaurants and bars—perfect for nights when you want a taste of the town.
Year-Round Adventures
Start your day with an early sunrise fishing trip—when the cool morning waters bring out the best bites. Weiss Lake, often called the “Crappie Capital,” is a favorite among anglers, and nearby spots like Yellow Creek Falls are known for excellent trolling, or see what's catching right off the dock.
For boating adventures, set out on a scenic cruise across Weiss Lake’s calm waters, discovering hidden coves, waterfalls, and soaking in the vibrant reflections of colorful leaves on the surface in the fall. Yellow Creek Falls has a nice swimming area, and when the waterfall is full there is a swimming hole beyond the boulders you can park your boat and climb over to. Weiss Lake does have some shallow areas, especially during the winter months, so please plan to have Depth Finders in working order and Navigation tools ready so you can stay safe and clear from shallow areas.
If you prefer to stay on land, miles of hiking trails meander through lush nearby forests offering breathtaking views and chances to spot local wildlife. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or simply seeking a peaceful stroll, these trails welcome everyone.
To make the most of your visit, consider planning ahead—book a guided fishing tour with Bay Springs Marina located directly across the lake from the dock if boating, or a 5 minute drive. Or reserve a boat for your vacation from Weiss Watersports, and they will deliver the boat to the dock!
