The property suited us down to the ground and was warm and comfortable. It was an ideal base to get around and see the Dales. The location was ideal having three pubs in the village.

Had a very warm welcome from Roger, the owner, who showed us around Poppy's Footprints, showed us the booklet for Eateries, etc., and was most accommodating in this and very kindly helped us with our luggage into the cottage. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge which was a very kindly gesture. The cottage had everything we needed to cook meals in the evenings. Nothing was lacking. We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay and do hope to return to Poppy's Footprint at some point in the future. The weather was kind enough for us to get out and about during the week of Christmas 2019. Even had Christmas cake and a mince pie, with coffees, in the Dante Arms in Middleham. We visited the Richard III Pub and though we didn't eat there, the meals that came out were very tempting indeed and of good proportions, from what we saw. All in all, we would highly recommend Poppy's Footprints to all who are looking for a cottage in Middleham.

Fabulous little hideaway, unfortunately the weather was not very kind so couldn't make the most of the area. We're sure that in summer it would be even better. Only 1 mark lost due to a lack of thought over placement of mirrors which were nowhere near plug sockets making it difficult to dry hair etc. Otherwise no complaints at all. Rodger and Hilary were lovely as was their dog Blake who greeted us enthusiastically. Will definitely return in the summer.
