"The Moxy is located within ten minutes walk from Plymouth Hoe, the city centre and a similar distance from the ferry terminal. The hotel runs along the length of a very quiet side road (Bath Street). Even though my room was only on the second floor, I heard no traffic noise whatsoever. The hotel itself is less than two years old (as at June 2025) so the interior is in a very good state of decoration. The bar area next to reception is a pleasant space to pass a few hours - an unexpected surprise...

Kirsty and Neil are good hosts, ready to offer recommendations if asked, but will leave you to yourselves if you prefer. They keep pigs and chickens, which we were lucky enough to feed, and I can report that the sausages, bacon & eggs at breakfast were very tasty! Added bonus of homemade cakes left out, delicious! "This was an unscheduled stop on route to Cornwall due to bad weather. What a pleasant surprise, a beautiful old Inn a short distance from the A30. The staff were friendly and helpful, great service a lovely evening meal and an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be returning with hopefully better weather."
