"Despite a hiccup with my initial room allocation the manager upgraded our room to one more acceptable. The staff were very friendly and helpful in particular the kitchen staff who accommodated my gluten free diet requirements."

"This property fit our needs well and was ideally located. It needed a bit of airing when we arrived, but that was taken care of quickly. Spacious sitting area and master bedroom. 2nd bedroom was tiny with two kid sized, closely situated beds. Not kid friendly was the scalding hot water tap and heated towel rack, which was hot enough to burn, and had no way to adjust the temperature or turn it off, that we could see. This took up precious space in a small bathroom, and made using said bathroom some what treacherous. Overall a nice property & a great stay. Would come again if the water heater were turned down and the towel rack removed."

"The hotel is quite dated for the price. I had one of the cleaning staff be extremely rude to me and he was very unprofessional. He attended my room, I asked him to come back in 5 minutes as we were just getting our things together to leave the room. His response was, “if it doesn’t get done now, it doesn’t get done at all”, and walked off. I had to call him back as we needed fresh towels etc, he came back, rushed around the room, rinsed a dirty glass in the sink and wiped it with a cloth and put it back. I reported this to a member of staff at check out, I was told that member of staff knew the cleaner I was talking about from my description of him. That member of staff asked if I would like it reported, which I said yes please, I was told that a manager would get back to me. I have never heard from anyone about my complaint, or any action taken with the cleaner."

"Fantastic property and fantastic location, great wildlife, great bike rides and loved eating at Andersons. Added bonus, saw a scottish wildcat. Our 2nd stay here, we also love Mallard. The only thing to mention, is there was no pen to sign the guestbook, we couldnt fill it in last time either. We would recommend a couple of sunloungers or comfy seats for the garden - just for when the weathers great and you want to read in a compfy spot outside. Will definately be back, its one of our favourites."

"We had a lovely stay at Mallard, there is plenty to do in the area and the countryside is just awesome. The grandchildren loved the garden and exploring the woods. The wildlife in the garden was a delight, especially the woodpecker and pine martin. (Also saw a capercaillie on one of my cycle rides) We enjoyed to cycling and trips to Loc Garten for walks and to see the Osprey. Would definitely book again."
