We knew that this place would be secluded and offer peace outside of the busy national parks. What we didn’t expect was the private hiking trails, amazing hosts, and enchanted feeling of the surrounding forests. It is far from town, but worth the extra drive if you don’t want to be surrounded by other tourists.

Gary and Julia are very kind and great hosts. My husband and I loved so much the cabin and our time there. The cabin is very clean and cozy. We appreciated being out of the city and not having phone signal. We highly recommend and make sure you book minimum 4 days because we stayed for 2 nights and it wasn't enough for us.
Thank you very much Julia and Gary. See you next time!!!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay immensely! The cleanliness and attention to detail was amazing! Gary and Julia have thought of everything here! Bring your clothes and food and you are set! I enjoyed cooking on a griddle and am seriously considering getting one! In any direction you walk, take your camera..the views are so pretty! We even kind of enjoyed the snow in June! We highly recommend this property...take a break from all your devices and even the clock and go up to RMEC to recharge yourself!!

If you’re looking for a true wilderness experience with all the comforts of home, then look no further! The Walkers are so friendly and have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Explore the nearby creek flowing through the property, take a short drive to beautiful Rock Lake and or set out on one of the numerous hiking trails, you’ll have plenty to enjoy. Or simply take it all in with a glass of wine and sit by the fire surrounded by mountains. Almost too good too be true!

We had three wonderful days at this truly remote and off-grid location - just what we were looking for. The road to the cabins is an adventure (and we saw a black bear) but worth every minute when you get there. Our cabin, no.1, was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, and lovely little extras. Hosts Julia and Gary could not have been more welcoming and hospitable and made our stay a home from home. They truly have their hearts in their escape cabins and deserve every success we are sure will come their way! What a lovely couple. We did several trails (don’t miss the Rock Lake trail), and there are great trails from the cabins themselves (be sure to visit George Malcolm!!!! 😁). Without a doubt, a 5-star experience.

We could not have been happier with our stay, and we were honestly disappointed to have to leave. The journey was part of the fun as you venture to the property you really get a sense of just how deep in the wilderness you were getting. The drive was quite easy, the instructions provided by The Walkers were spot on and Google maps also worked quite well (follow it all the way until you see the wooden Rocky Mountain Escapes sign, then turn to that instead). Gary gave us a perfect tour of the property including some amazing insight to hikes in the area. We ended up doing a 9.5km down the river towards a nearby mountain and it was stunning. The cabin was extremely comfortable, stunningly clean, and equipped with more amenities than we expected, very good hot water. Everything with the stay was absolutely lovely and we can't wait to come back.

We loved our time here. Beautiful wood cabin in the woods that offers you a chance to completely unplug and decompress. We arrived on the later side and let Gary and Julia know. They were there to greet us and help us familiarize ourselves with the cabin. Gary had a fire going and ready for us! It is a lovely space with everything you need to enjoy your time there. Well stocked kitchen. We particularly enjoyed cooking on the griddle outside and enjoying the scenery while doing so. Our host left a bottle of wine, some chips and a welcome letter. We wanted to go fishing and Gary was happy to help us set this up online. Gary and Julia went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We did not want to leave! I would suggest traveling during the day if possible as with all great off the grid places it is more challenging to travel to at night. We treasured our time here and did not want to leave! We hope to return soon!
