It was just what we wanted for a one-night stay. The staff were very kind & efficient. Supper was faultless, but breakfast was slow and the "crispy" bacon too thick and tough.
Great food & beer, good location for country walks and the Forest of Dean area. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Cosy country pub atmosphere with a lovely beer garden. Menu choice was good meals were generous. Definitely worth a visit for their pies!
Small and comfortable room with a large bed. Plenty of small that was well apportioned. Slept well. Great food with excellent service. Highly recommend
I like the friendly relaxed feel, the staff were lovely and the food was really nice.
The bed was the main problem however as it felt like worn springs

Good Hotel
The room was absolutely adequate and clean although the mattresses were not really comfortable. There was some ceiling mould in the bathroom.
The service was very good and staff very friendly and helpful.
My dad and I were on holiday driving all over England when we stumbled upon this beautiful inn after a long day of driving and exploring. It was comfortable and welcoming. The dinning lodge was perfect for a couple of pints and a wonderful dinner. As an American when you imagine the UK this place was the perfect example of expectations meets reality. In 10 years for my 50th I plan to take my son and we will absolutely be staying her.

Mad about Pies
Very nice pub, pies are excellent.
Rooms small, no table to put anything. Shower is good.
Mattress not at all comfortable, but staff are very nice.
Absolutely fantastic place, staff bent over backwards to assist, help and make your stay brilliant. Food was out of this world. We are going to stay there again.
Thank you
Excellent Stay once Again.
Stayed here 5 times,always Exceptional.
Phil clearly runs an Excellent operation, with Fantastic Staff to support him.
Well Done
Property felt cold when we got there and we were unable to get the radiators on, think they must be on a timer, very limited menu, have stayed in a lot better accomodation for less money than we paid £136 for 1 night and breakfast was another £13,95 per person.
Pleasant and helpful staff. Room and bed quality good. The internet and tv Roku. Dropped out a bit but didn’t go for the telly. Food was excellent highly recommended
Rooms clean and well maintained. Staff friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is very good in the pub. Pies are fantastic and very good portions too. All made to order. Breakfast is also very good ibdeed.
Very busy when I arrived a beer festival was on but despite this owner was very welcoming showed me to my room straight away. Room very clean and had everything I wanted. I didn’t have the included breakfast as I left at 7am all locked up so left key in room door.
the friendliness of all the staff was lovely, food was brilliant the best game pie we have ever tasted. such a great shame that we had to cut short our stay by one day due to our car playing up.
would have liked a rack or similar to put our cases on to save bending (couple of old crocks) and a comfortable chair by the mirror. won't stop us booking again. thank you all.
I’ve are so sorry to have to say that we have stayed before hence coming back . However the rooms have been updated , but the food was poor our family came to visit and my son couldn’t eat his meal we were refunded for his but quite frankly we were all disappointed in our meals . Service on the Sunday was poor too .
