"The view of the hotel ia mind blowing. The rooms are cozy, warm and clean. I would love to stay there again. You need to know that the surroundings of the hotel have change, is more developed so that means more noises... But nothing too loud to handle. The food service is terms of food, everything is so good! But it's slow, in my opinion it goes well with the idea that you go there to relax and enjoy the view... So just be aware that it might take a while. You have other hotels nearby that also offers food service. "

"El Picnic was a truly special place to stay on Lake Atitlán. The hosts are wonderful and make the experience along with the beautiful setting. Gabi went above and beyond, from helping coordinate transportation before our arrival to suggesting and arranging unique local experiences during our stay. One of her recommendations, a bird-watching hike, ended up being a highlight of our trip (we even saw a quetzal!). Meals were excellent, with delicious breakfasts and dinners shared with other guests and the hosts. There’s not really a menu, but everything was fresh, delicious and thoughtfully prepared, and added to the experience. This is not a traditional hotel. It’s open air and immersive. You’ll hear the natural sounds of the area at night, which was part of the charm. Good to know: there are quite a few stairs, and you should be comfortable with that. Bugs were not an issue at all during our stay. If you’re looking for a unique, authentic experience with incredible hosts, we highly recommend El Picnic."

"It was a little off the beaten path so the taxi could not get me there but a pretty short walk. No food available on site. About 20 walk to dock "

"Hotel restaurant exceeded expectations and the massage at the spa was fantastic. However, we had an ant problem at one point in our bathroom and the front desk isn't 24 hour. Front desk could have been more helpful with giving recommendations and information (for example, one of their restaurant recs was closed on Sundays and they didn't tell us that). The noise from the bar next door was extremely loud until 10pm each day. Pool and hot tub were nice. It was great to have someone come meet us at the dock and get our luggage upon arrival to San Marcos."
