staff are liers.. beds clean.. arragant and not helpful.. i drove 3 days and reached the motel at 1pm.. wanted to check in.. told to wait till 4 pm.. room had to be cleaned.. i did get checked in at 3pm.. room had spider webs all over door to the casing.. bathtub had 2 large spiders in tub.. sink had web with spider over the drain.. the room had not beed used the night before as staff stated.. my last stay at any of their propertys.. terrible staff..guy had two full tattoo sleaves and shaved sides of head hair cut.. no problem with that..just description of who 'lied' to me..arraigant snotty kid attitude.. no people skills.. lost my business.. even with spiders nice quiet place.. Ahole kid i described bad for motel!!!!!

For it being located right on the beach, it was great. The only down side was the bathroom had black mold all on and around the ceiling.

No hot water, no wifi, no cable tv. The top blanket had stains on it that I removed it and I was scared to not wear shoes in the place. There were bugs smashed on the walls and I thought about leaving in the middle of the night it was so bad. The fromt desk people were nice but I would never stay again.

A wounderful experience

The owner and staff were wonderful, they helped with needs. My husband and I had a beautiful view from our cabin and we would book another reservation at Bell's Melody Motel.

Property has a small beach, fire pit and seats to see the bridge all day and the ferries leaving port for the island. The room was decent sized with older beds and quiet.

NASTY

Horrible. Sealing cracked and paint is literally falling as if there was at one point a leak. Lampshade barely holding onto the wire rim of the lamp. The WORST PART? tub WOULDNT DRAIN, which meant no showers or baths available. We had the room for 2 days, Waited 1.5 days for them to tell us the drain was fixed ONLY FOR IT TO IMMEDIATELY BACK UP. management said we would have to take up our issues with 3rd party booking agent. NEVER RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION.

The staff were very nice and helpful. We had a beautiful view of the bridge and fireworks. The hotel was very outdated, it had 2 beds, so it all was good. We just needed a place to crash for the night!

I am all for a mom and pop motel. And I am aware that most places are closed for winter in this area but this place needs to be closed down , I'm actually not sure how they have passed or gotten away with staying op n. They own 4 motels in the area, when we arrived the signs said vacancy n $69 a night which we paid way more and even at $69 a night or is insane because this place is so ran down from chipping paint, old dirty nasty walls, had to sit sideways on the toilet because it's basically under the sink n the carpet does not look like it's been clean in years and was damp. There was one outlet in the whole tiny room with an extension cord, no amenities, and we were the only people even staying there. Now the pool are yes they advertised it.. well it's half indoor/outdoor and they do have a hot tub, that being said it's disgusting.. the staff were nice but other then that this place may have been a nice place 20 years ago but there has been 0 upkeep to the place.. do not waste your money at all to stay here it's that bad..

The photos that were displayed upon registration had very little to do with the room we had. The room had water damage issues and in need of renovation and update. The staff was lovely and helpful.

Very caring place!!

Hotel is a little older, but very comfortable. In fact both my husband and I had our best nights sleep here. The next morning we did have a serious problem, which is when the young lady in the office, I believe her name is Kenisha( sorry if I have spelled that wrong. But this young lady, who had just met me, offered so much comfort and support I cannot say enough about her. We will come back to this location, just to enjoy the caring feeling of this place and it’s staff. If I could give them more than a ten, I certainly would. Thank you so much!!

Very dirty. Employees were nice though. Check in was awful. Had no idea where to go. I booked at Bell's Melody but that's not where I got to stay. Super sketchy. Don't book here. Outlets were just for decoration, microwave was on floor, tv didn't work, dead bugs in bathroom. Glad we only booked 1 night. The pictures displayed aren't accurate.

We paid way too much to stay at a place in this condition. The room smelled damp. Many things in the room were damaged or falling apart. Everything was old, out dated, and miss match. Tiny shower. Smuges all over the walls. Missing screen on the patio door. Goose droppings everywhere around the property. I would not recommend staying here.

We found Bug egg sacks under the covers, OLD mattress without any mattress protection, old electric cords, moldy smelling air conditioning, no smoke detectors. Owners would not issue refund due to it being at checkin time. Have not received a refund for the second day (we had two days booked). It took us 2 minutes to decide to not stay…. We would have rather driven straight home after already driving for 12 hours with two small kids, than risk sleeping in this room…

The room was full of bugs. The pictures through Expedia was not the pictures of the Bell motel. It was the pictures of the sunrise motel. I told them I wanted a refund and was told that they couldn't because I booked Thur Expedia. I told him I was not staying in that room with the bugs and so he did give me an upgrade to the sunrise motel which was better. Also in the ad for the Bell motel it said there was a hot tub and a heated pool in an outdoor pool. And yes there was that but at the sunrise hotel you had to walk to it. The heated pool was not heated. The hot tub was missing a plate on the bottom and my foot stepped in the hole and I got a bruise on top of my foot. I will not recommend either one of these places for anybody to stay at. I give them a complete thumbs down.

Terrible motel and firetrap!

This absolutely the worse motel that my family and I have ever stayed in. Norman Bates hotel in Psycho is 5 star compared to this motel. Hotel.com shouldn’t condone the false advertising by providing pictures that don’t represent the actual condition of the rooms, grounds, and facilities! Hotel.com advertises indoor/outdoor pool, which there wasn’t one and it advertises that the “resort” has a beautiful beach which it has a beach of you can dodge the collection of empty Budweiser and trash! The bathroom, you don’t have to worry about Norman Bates killing you because the bathroom electrical system isn’t grounded and certainly doesn’t have a GFI protection and to use the TV, you will need to plug it and the receiver into an extension cord to make it function and there was no remote control provided but, no worries, because the only channel you will have is the Weather Channel! The beds and mattress are worn out and no headboards are attached, however, the screws and holes are still there if you would like to provide your own headboard or find one by the roadside because it will match the rest of the decor! Pillows are provided but you will receive on “worn out one” and another and another that is half size that belongs on a couch! We would have forfeited our $250 (+) room night if other hotels in the Mackinaw City had availability due to Labor Day Mackinac Bridge! Extremely disappointing! And will reconsider using Hotel.com for booking future stays.
