"We stayed in this Appart hotel for 1 week. I must recognise personnel is very friendly , especially Helder who was helpful and prompt in our requests of support. Pool downstairs is nice and calm. Buffet at dinner is of high quality. The only drawback from our point of view is the kitchen having only one cooker and not many stoves, cutleries and pans for anything more than just a small and quick breakfast."

"Good: facilities, overall clean, rooms were large and private, pool was well maintained. Ocean access, did not feel too busy always had access to beach loungers. Not so good: questionable service, a lot of inconsistentencies with wrong items being served, bar and buffet staff were dismissive with minor questions or requests. Room service was not ok on both attempts. Major food allergens were wrongly labeled in the buffet and often had labels turned around and did not have any information on the items being served."

"Beautiful hotel and super convenient location. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was all super nice and helpful. Spa is very nice and Suana and Turkish bath are available free of charge to all guests. Rooftop has really nice views of Funchal."

"It is a beautiful hotel, we had a balcony with an ocean view. The breakfast is first class, the service was hospitable. And the location was perfect for us - only a 20 minute walk to the Funchal Marina, with an abundance of beautiful cafe's and shops. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The Evening buffet didn’t meet our expectations. It had overdone meat in several different options. The food wasn’t hot and the salads were almost gone. We both didn’t think it was worth the money. The breakfast buffet was much higher standard. Couldn’t fault anything else. Design, staff, cleanliness and facilities were exceptional"

Calheta Beach - All Inclusive

"Lovely hotel, with great sea view rooms. We had premium All inclusive which was well worth it for the al carte breakfast and additional nights at the restaurants. Swimming pools are great, mostly couples there, a few young children as not a child friendly hotel really. It's 4 euros to play pool for an hour, which is fair. One critisim is the number of flies and bugs. At the buffet/drink stations there are a lot of flies, with cakes/lemons/honey left out. It was a bit off putting, however it was always cleaned if something left out / causing the issue. We did get a lot of bites at night as well, including inside and mostly around ankles and feet - take bug spray. The shuffle service to Funchal isn't worth it, better to get an uber if a couple, can come and go as you please and the same money, choose CR7 as the drop off point. Lots of vegetarian options in the buffet also and proper drinks brands served. Entertainment was okay, mostly live music."
