Repeated noise and hallway light made it difficult to sleep
I booked two nights at Hostal Andrea Sol through Expedia for $492.58, travelling with my teenage son. My receipt said “Superior Double Room,” with no mention of a shared bathroom. That information appeared in expanded room details, but I only noticed it during online check-in. I found the disclosure insufficiently prominent.
The bathroom was only the first problem. Our room was beside the shared bathrooms, and flushing, hallway activity and loud neighbouring guests repeatedly interrupted my attempts to sleep. The automatic hallway light shone through gaps around the closed, locked door. I was ill and still awake around 3 a.m.
I reported these issues to reception and Expedia. The bedding was also too thin for me, and the replacement duvet offered had no cover. The property offered a refund for the second night only if we checked out before noon. With no alternative accommodation secured, we stayed both nights and received no cash refund.
At this price, I expected substantially better conditions for rest. I would not book again.
