The rooms were very clean and the bathrooms were nice in the rooms. The beds are really comfy with a nice duvet. The only downside was they use way too much fragrance, an overwhelming amount which gave me a headache.

A gem tuck away from busy streets

LaNave delivered in all the important items you look for a hostel, plus more. Our stay was so comfortable because of clean rooms, yummy breakfast, great location ( only 7 mins walk to nearest metro station and to tourist sites in Madrid), great rate, and excellent service by Chris and his staff who made our stay memorable. We stayed for 3 nights and felt safe walking even after midnight in this part of Madrid. Also, there are a number of restaurants to choose from that is within 3-5 mins walk. I will stay here again when in Madrid.

The whole place was beautiful and clean. However, by its very nature it is quite noisy when other guests are around - even when in a private room. There was also very little Choice at breakfast. But it was certainly excellent for the price, and very close to the palace.

We love how they set up their place. It's cozy and unique. The place is close to everything, very convenient for the traveler. The receptionist (Chris) was very friendly and accommodating. He gave us tips on how to navigate the city. We love our stay in this hotel.

LaNave is such a cute and unique experience. The decorations and friendly faces make you feel cozy and safe. The breakfast was delicious and the beds gave me a good nights rest before heading off to walk the Camino de Santiago.

Very well located and kind hosts. They relocated me after one night due to an issue with the bathroom. The hotel uses lots of fragrance so avoid if you have chemical sensitivities. Nice breakfast.

It was very clean. Extremely helpful staff. Conveniently located close to Plaza España, very close to metro and bus stops. It is a small hostal, small but very comfortable rooms.

The hotel is conveniently located near the city center, just a short and pleasant walk to/fro Plaza de España. Unfortunately, when I arrived, there was no one at the front desk and the main doors were locked, so I ended up waiting outside for almost 20 minutes. My room felt a bit cramped, dark and had a damp smell, mixed with strong cleaning product odors. On the positive side, the property itself is very clean and the staff is helpful once available. I do think the breakfast could benefit from a wider variety of options.

Good location for the price

Overall good hotel and in a great location. East walk to the palace and plaza espana. Worth the price, however, it can be a bit noisy at times due to the thin walls, which are thin enough to hear the person in the next washroom.

Cannot see hotel from the street.

Room was small but clean and comfortable. The hotel is not visible from the street. You have to walk down an alley to get to it. DO NOT DRIVE down the alley. It's narrow and there's no place to park for anything but motorcycles. You have to park in the garage up the street from the hotel. If you have an early departure, don't count on breakfast. Also it's difficult to not flood the floor when taking a shower. Suggest putting big towel in front of shower entrance.

Quiet and comfortable

I can’t think of any negative things to say about this hotel other than no tv in the room. But since we were only there a few nights not really an issue. Breakfast was adequate and nice. Room and lobby comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have any issues finding it but since others had said it’s hard to find we put the maps on and found it with no issues. Actually since it’s along a back lane it made it so quiet. The nearest metro stop is Plaza De España and the area feels safe and has plenty of cafes and shops. We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Madrid again. Also tour buses nearby.

Our first impression of the hotel was very good. Staff very pleasant. However, on Monday my husband woke up with some red spots on his arm. We didn’t think much about it but this morning my husband woke up with bites on his arm, head and neck. This was very disappointing because we had to leave at 7:15 am to continue our trip and there was nobody to talk to. Very dissatisfied.

Wonderful hostel

Excellent hostel, great location. The hostel has a very calm and welcoming feel to it, friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. Rooms are what you would expect, but perfect for our short stay.
