"The view is what sells the apartment .. it's all downhill from there really. Or should I say 'uphill' as there are 53 steps and 4 potholed paths to get to and from the top apt. Had the number of steps been advertised I would not have booked a stay at the Cove. There is quite a lot of noise from the road and railway which runs right outside.
If the look they were going for was 'shabby chic' .. they certainly achieved 'Shabby' ! Walls marked and plaster crumbling away in various places. ...
"The STOEP is beautifully designed and beautifully positioned for a Kalk Bay getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub overlooking the beautiful sea view was a highlight and the friendly staff made us feel welcome and at home."

The driveway is a bit steep and there is no signage, so we were kind of confused when we first pulled in but the directions were on point.

"An extremely well equipped cottage two houses down from the road and garage. The funicular made it easy to get groceries and luggage back and forth. Lots of seating and comfortable beds. We felt very safe there. Highly recommended. "

"The accommodation was in a beautiful neighborhood located close enough to Cape Town to allow us to visit in 30 minutes by car while staying in a quiet place. The cottage was very clean, quiet and offered a view of Fishhoek beach. We would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a place to stay near a beach away from the downtown area. "
"Excellent! Our first floor room was spacious and well decorated with all ameneties including tea/coffee, fridge, beach towels etc. TV had Netflix etc. More St James than Kalk Bay but only 10mins walk to Kalk Bay. Breakfast was excluded but we just added and the choice was extensive. parking was available just around the corner. Only two comments which did not bother us was that the room had no air-con but was very cool. Overhead fan and open windows were fine. The only other comment its that the road is quite busy and the odd train passes by but we would still definitely return!"

"Even though we only stayed for two nights, it was really worth it. Ray and Sanchia were super helpful with anything we asked for or requested, the view is even more awe inspiring when you see it compared to the photos. The room is very spacious with all the usual amenities, as well as a few snacks and drinks and house keeping every day; if you need it. Lots of things to do around and nice places to eat. Don't be scared of the steps, they are definitely doable ;) "
