Budget Gem of a place ….
A lovely little find especially when there’s a Sam Fender gig on and no hotels left that haven’t inflated their prices.
This place is a little gem, recently refurbished and minimal. No dust collectors or wobbly furniture.
Here’s the pros and cons:
+ rainfall shower (2 shower heads)
+ hair dryer (a decent one!)
+ ample wardrobe space / shelving
+ desk with chair and sockets close by
+ bedside lamp (that works!)
+ comfortable standard double bed
+ smart TV (so you log in to any of your TV apps like Netflix, Prime etc)
+ self check-in (really convenient)
- TV didn’t have any terrestrial channels tuned in
- extractor fan in bathroom isn’t working
- no tea/coffee facilities in the room (not sure if in the kitchen but I’m not for communal spaces)
My only concern overall is the noise. I had some rather inconsiderate neighbours (in other rooms) who continually ran up and down the stairs, slamming the front door and their room door for about 15 minutes. No idea what they were doing but eventually I shouted out for them to stop! Then I was rudely awoken by two people talking really loudly in the living room - completely selfishly not acknowledging other folk in the building could hear every word. Again, I jumped out of bed and told them to shut up!
That’s the only drawback of no-one being on site to monitor the noise.
Suggestions for owner:
*Add notices to keep the noise down and be clear about being kicked out if a report of it comes in.
