Peter is a good man helpful in lots of ways but if you won't a hotel with hotel standards then the odfellowes might not be for you in my opinion it is a hostle cheep and cheerful
Exactly what you expect for a cheap stay- atmosphere was very good in the pub and landlord was a good laugh. The breakfast is good enough if you want some quick cereal before you head out. Will stay again!

We needed an overnight stay. The Oddfellows is in poor shape. Room was adequate and reflected what we paid. Bathrooms at either end of corridor, toilet roll taken by other guests as soon as replaced by owner. Bed was comfortable and overall our stay was good. We wish the owner luck with his future plans.

Peter was very welcoming and good to get travel updates before arrival.
Room clean and nice to have a simple breakfast buffet with option to cook too.
Room was cold and had to put a coat on as the heating didn't kick in until around 9-30 / 10pm....info in private room said that all windows ie toilet and corridor were to be left open for ventilation. seemed a bit odd but open roof space in corridor added to the chill !
Heard Karaoke going on which I was kindly warned about but not an issue.
Decent value but need to address the late thermostat time badly!

Peter was a lovely host and was incredibly friendly. It was tricky to get hold of him when I arrived but when he was made aware he came very quickly. The pub had live music until 12 and then had the smoking area just outside the room. This did lead to a lot of noise at night but once it died down I was able to get to sleep. The stay was a budget stay, so I did not have high expectations. It is a great option for a sleep stop. I found that the room was too claustrophobic with the amount of beds in there.

Peter was a very good host and is very helpful. He upgraded my room for one night because of a cancellation and I appreciate it.
Although the cleanliness and hygiene was not up to my expectation. The plates and bowls at the breakfast were not clean and the bedding seemed to not have been changed in the dorm room for sometime.
Overall for the price I paid it was a good stay.

although it looks a little shabby on tbe outside the room was clean and warm
the owner Peter really went the extra mile to be accomodating, giving recommendations for local spots to eat
its above a karaoke bar so it was a little loud but not obnoxiously so, and Peter did offer to move me to a different room if the noise too much
overall a very good value for money place to stay, especially with the complementary breakfast

Not an Oddfellow at all.
Great value for money. Peter was a great host and was also helpful prior to us arriving by offering a different room for our dogs who were also on our mini road trip.
The place was fantastic for the price and was great value for money. Main improvement would be the cleanliness. The place smelled of alcohol (which isn’t surprising since it’s a pub) and cigarettes, so it would be better if it didn’t. However, the price was affordable and the host was very friendly. I really enjoyed my time here and would book again.

Reasonably priced but in need of an update
The owner/managerbwas super friendly ane chatty and very helpful with reccomendations for food places and getting around.
However:
Its in a very busy, loud pub, that has karaoke nights on a Saturday night (bring headphones)
The places is is dyer need of an upgrade. Decour is peeling, damp in places and toilet room smelled strongly of urine!
Was in a bunk room and fellow travellers had no respect for others (loud, turning lights on, swearing etc).
Due to the heatwave (and the previously mentioned other guests) it was unbearable and didn't sleep a wink! Fans in the room would have been beneficial.
That being said....beds were super comfy, reasonably priced and located very close to the M60!
The host Peter is lovely & very friendly I can’t rate the breakfast as I didn’t eat it in the end. I’m aware it’s budget so not expecting much but hygiene is an issue what needs addressing. No fresh towels as promised after initially being told to use the ones in the bathroom what had been used as they was thrown on the floor. The Wallpaper was hanging off the wall the blind was useless it’s all broken so the light just streams in, I get it’s an old building but there is a very strong smell in the room. The shared toilet carpet needs pulling up it strongly of urine and also wobbles to the side when sat on !! I don’t expect a mega amount for the price but the place needs a bit of tlc & a good clean if you are charging people to stay. I’ve ran a proper good old pub myself so I’m aware of what’s expected. My advice is take the review onboard to try and better potentially a great spot to stop in. Lovely host who seems lovely please have a look at a few things please
The bed served it's purpose.
Good sleep and back to London.
One of the guests had window open all night therefore noisy.
However, did not prevent me from a good sleep.
Don't normally stay in hostels as dont like sharing room with multiple people.
Overall good.
We had a weekend stay and it was very good! The hotel has a pub in the ground floor and they run several activities every weekend! Good option to meet new people. Note that this could mean some background noise very late at night, so if you are looking for a very quiet place to rest, this might not be for you. Our host Peter was very kind, attentive, and available to help us with anything we needed. The hotel is a short walking distance away from a bus station that can take you to the city centre; depending on your destination it could take you between 30-60min (it took us approximately 55min to Old Trafford Stadium). The hotel offers self-service breakfast and has shared toilets and showers in every floor. These areas were always clean which is a big plus!

Peter the owner of this property is a very nice, helpful man. He has put a lot of work and time into this building which caters for low budget stay yet he supplies a self service hot meal and continental breakfast which was very tasty. Our room was bright and cosy, no tv which was not a problem as we had gone out for a birthday party elsewhere. Comfy settee, fresh milk in worktop fridge for drinks supplied and even though a band seemed to be practising after karaoke finished we did get to sleep until 8am. No ensuite but not a problem as separate modern toilet and shower room just nearby bedroom. Even though building is on the road the traffic noise was minimal. Peter still has a lot to do with the property, it is a work in progress and even though Peter working alone he will succeed. Staff and other guests where also friendly and helpful. There is a wood/park at bottom of the road where we took our dogs for a walk, pub restaurant 5 minute walk from Oddfellows as too is easy access to the M60, Peter advised us of this as we had arrived on a different route.

Worried about using the showers, as lots of black mould. The single toilet was clean, though. Spilled coffee/liquid on the floor outside our room door. Room dated and in need of decorating. Aerial for the tv was loose, so the tv kept going off. Rusty radiator. Coffee granules on the carpet, stuck to my feet. Dried up coffee. Dirty mugs. Blood and scratches on our van in the morning, after parking it in the side street! Bits in the bitter. Had to cook our own breakfast and no eggs available, so a full cooked breakfast ended up being bacon on toast. Still, you get what you pay for.
I Will start off by saying that the owner Peter is friendly and accommodating. The place is not far from the train station, and you can get to Manchester in 15 mins. However there we’re some issues with our stay. First the whole place smells strongly of cigarette smoke and I found a burnt out cigarette butt in the shared toilet beside the sink. The room was rather scruffy with mould on the ceiling and mysterious stains on the bed sheets. The music from the bar downstairs was very loud and plays til late. Very loud karaoke. Also can hear customers drinking and yelling in beer garden til late. Only available light source is the ceiling light that comes with an added surprise of being a Bluetooth speaker which someone from the bar had un knowingly connected to while we were in bed late at night. The speaker was blaring uncontrollably and changing colours rapidly. The only way to stop the invasively loud sounds was to turn the light off completely as there are no buttons to control the speaker part of it. Obviously as it’s above a bar you know what you’re in for with the noise, and if you like a drink, karaoke, and socialising with the locals, it’s a good spot for you. If you’re travelling with intent of having a quiet and early night, might not be the place for you. All in all an unforgettable stay.

What can I say. I had high hopes. The Host is pleasant. Bar has good prices. Breakfast is there for you to cook and make yourself. Although pans were dirty and no way to clean them. Facilities. Smells of stale cigarettes throughout. Room was absolutely disgusting. Smelled like a dirty gym locker. Walls were soaked and mold is growing everywhere. I was told that it was being worked on but who’s to say when. Guests were inconsiderate. Talking and watching tv into the late hours. The bar is loud downstairs. It carries into the room and had I not had earplugs I may have been more uncomfortable. Bathrooms are gross. Mold all around sinks and showers. One shower wouldn’t power on. I booked for two nights ahead of time. Had I shown up earlier the first night I would have left immediately. Second day I left and found a place cleaner and closer to the city centre.

Overall, I enjoyed my time. I really liked my roommates, and the bedding was comfortable. I could feel some of the mattress springs, but I got decent sleep. The host, Peter, was pleasant and welcoming.
Despite signs saying to keep doors closed because the heat was on, it was always cold in the rooms and halls. The bathroom never had toilet paper in it, but no one else ever commented on it, so I just made-do. I did not say anything and I accept that.
Some nights were noisy because of the bar downstairs, but that's to be expected. I found it easy to sleep through. One night we had some particularly rowdy residents fighting and the shouting was very annoying, but my roommates and I stayed up just chatting, instead.
Check-in and check-out was very straightforward, although the getting in part took longer because I was early, called, but did not leave a message. Entry and exit from the building after check-in was very easy.
Breakfast was provided for, with a variety of choice. However, you needed to be early, lest other residents eat all the portions provided. That's not the fault of the host; greedy people are everywhere.
The surrounding neighborhood was very quiet and felt safe. The bus stop is just a 3 minute walk from the back door and connects to a larger bus terminal in a short distance. The area is farther away from Manchester City Centre, but you guarantee some peace and quiet, if that's what is preferred. I enjoyed my time and would stay here, again.

Nice and cheap stay
We had a nice stay here. We picked it as it wasn't to far from where we were headed for the Manchester comic con, it was good enough for what we needed it for, bed was a bit soft but this is personal preference and we had okay sleep. Was loud on night but your above a pub so expected with territory, flashing lights outside window were distracting when getting to sleep. Chef was unavailable on Saturday morning which happens and he came and explained to us that night and offered a refund for that, which was very much appreciated and we thank you so much for this, i think the chef must have not been in sunday morning either but we had a portable hob and a few things left for us to fix our own in the breakfast area so this was okay. Emergencies are bound to happen so thanks for the explanation on Saturday evening.
I'm sorry we didnt mention but i just would like to bring the owners attention to the photos on hotels.com, when i booked the images showed a double room with a tv in and a little seperate sink, im not sure whether this was a little mistake or overbooking of that room type etc but would just not want others to book and expect a tv etc in their room and then complain about it. Saying that we both were not overly bothered since the wifi was great and when we had a busy day we were able to watch some things using our phone. Unfortunately the bin had been missed in the room when we checked in but I understand things can get overlooked when your busy. Good overall, thankyou.
