Because the manager who checked me in was the grouchiest, most hostile desk clerk I have encountered in the past few years. She said all the requisite things, like "Enjoy your stay", with a scowl on her face."

From Maria and Richard at the front desk, to Horacio the shuttle driver, and to all the others whose names I have not yet learned - well done! The garden building is very special - like staying in a garden. So peaceful. There are many other places to stay in Laredo, but my family and I stayed here once, and have never looked at another hotel in the area again. There is no need. We are thankful for this place."

"Bathroom appeared dirty due to a tub that needs replaced. This hotel is due for a remodel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hot tub was filthy."
