Many pilots & flight attendants whose regular route takes them to NY stay here for this reason. The staff, and particularly the housekeeping staff, is super-friendly. The hotel itself is nice enough - plenty of large, double rooms, a nice art deco style (it was world famous in the 1930s), and history (Nikola Tesla lived his last days here) - and it's almost always reasonably priced.
