Yes, some parts of Bali are overrun with tourists and rubbish. However, we’ve been here for a couple of weeks now and we’ve seen many beach clean ups being organized, plus single-use plastic is restricted, so yay to this Bali!

Whenever I hear people complaining because Bali is too touristy, I would like to remind them that it’s a pretty big island, and visiting ‘Western hotspots’ is not compulsory! You can always find places with not many other people around, and in some cases you don’t even need to travel far. This is Seseh Beach, less than 15 minutes away from Canggu by scooter!

The crop of the rice
Definitely some unique temples to see, but it's more of a tourist stop than a cultural experience. You can't even walk through the temples, just around them blocked by a stone wall. Nice views, but not amazing.
An other interesting temple
