Large 4 Bedroom 3 Bath home with a short walk To Sheridan Beach!

Our Sheridan Beach vacation home was renovated in 2015. We put in a new kitchen with hickory cabinets, quartz counter tops, and a butcher block island. The kitchen is open to the living and dining area, which provides a nice open area for your group to gather! There is a keurig coffee maker in addition to a regular pot coffee maker.

The home is a short 0.2 mile walk to the beach using the beach path down to Lake Shore Dr that is close to the home. The 2 upstairs bedrooms are huge, with plenty of sleeping options in each room. There is a small private balcony off each upstairs bedroom. There is a big deck in the back yard with a grill and dining table. The large driveway and 2 car garage offer all the room you will need for parking.

The home is fully furnished and equipped with everything you need for the ultimate retreat from home. All linens and towels are included. The kitchen is on the main level and is open to the living and dining room. A large family room with a sectional couch, 50 inch HDTV, foosball, ping pong, air hockey and pool (combo tables) is located on the lower level. The lower level has a walk out slider to the backyard and the large deck. Enjoy outdoor dining with enough seating for the whole group. There is a sand area with plenty of toys, a bags set and many other outdoor games!

There are 4 bedrooms:

BEDROOM 1 (Blue Room): upper level - Big bedroom with 1 king bed, a full size crib, a futon, 2 closets and a dresser (changing table).
BEDROOM 2 (Orange Room): upper level - Big bedroom with 2 bunk beds, both twin over full (4 total beds), 1 closet, a dresser and a kids table.
BEDROOM 3 (Green Room): main level - Queen bed, closet, dresser and desk.
BEDROOM 4 (Yellow Room): lower level - Small bedroom with 1 queen bed and a dresser.

There are three bathrooms in the home, one bathroom on each level. Two bathrooms have a shower, and 1 bathroom has a shower/tub combo.

This home is perfect for families. There is a full crib, changing table, baby swing, sand area, plenty of games and toys!

The home is equipped with wireless internet and 2 HD televisions with cable TV and DVR with rewind live TV and record capabilities. We have a 50" TV in the lower level game room and a 32" TV in the living room, which is open to the kitchen and dining area.

We allow 1 well behaved dog. If you are hoping to bring more than 1 dog, please send us a message before your stay to get approval on a case by case basis.

Perfect for Triathletes, Cyclists and Marathoners - The Lake offers un-rivaled facilities for a great day of lounging and swimming at the beach. Hundreds of miles of bike friendly roads for cycling. Our home is very close to the Blue Chip Casino, the outlet mall, and great restaurants!

The size and location of the house was great. I would agree with other reviews that the house is a bit beat up. I also agree that the listing is a little misleading in that the basement rec room had none of the games set up and in fact looked broken. But it served our needs for a short period of time.

Low cost proximity

A basic house with work in progress here and there and some improvements needed, but overall this location is stellar. Quiet area of town and short walk to the beach. Levels provide privacy and the common area is centrally located for all. We had a great time and the host was extremely responsive and helpful!

House was in a great location and had ample space for my group. There was ample parking and the short cut to the beach was extremely convenient. Unfortunately, the amenities weren’t in perfect working order. The ceiling light in the king room did not turn on. The ceiling fan in the bunk room did not turn on. The refrigerator and freezer did not close easily and the oven only has one rack instead of the standard two. The patio is not conveniently located to the kitchen which makes utilizing it for outdoor meals difficult. The shortcut is more of a hiking trail than a road so you can’t take a wagon down it, but it’s great for coming back to the house in the middle of a beach day for lunch.

Just okay

Property just as the title says, just okay. The home needs some TLC to be a little more presentable inside. Furniture inside and outside (patio) beds to be replaced. No gaming setup as described in the basement (foosball, pool, air hockey) as it was all broken, but still out. Internet connection was not as it was listed in the welcome packet. When I messaged the host asking for assistance on this I did not receive a response. Luckily, we were able to figure it out. Positives- kitchen and main floor bedroom were nice. Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood and near the beach. House served it's purpose, just disappointed with the condition and inaccurate descriptions.

Lake Michigan

The beds were comfortable, gas stove was nice, back deck was nice. The kids enjoyed their stay. The neighborhood was nice. It was newly painted a beautiful blue. The CO2 detector was alarming, but the fire dept said it just needed to be replaced. Good assortment of games, beach toys, wagon and outdoor toys. We did not mind the older furniture because we did not need to be yelling at the kids all the time lol. I had read other reviews, so we brought a few our own pots and pans. We would stay here again. Would like it if we could have figured out how to use the basement TV,

Fantastic location, poor support from host

The house is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the beach. The interior of the house would need some care though, with a few things that need to be cleaned (e.g. sofa) and others that need to be repaired (fussball, shower head). But overall we enjoyed the stay, with the exception below. The A/C was not working during our stay. We communicated the problem to the host and, while we stayed for a couple of days more, he was not able to send anyone to take a look and fix the issue. Communication was very slow -- I also shared my mobile phone number asking to be called but it never happened. We then asked for a partial refund (the house was advertised with the A/C), and contacted Vrbo to assist us. After 3 weeks, still no answer about our request. I look forward for a positive resolution of the issue!

Large Family Getaway

A large gathering place for our big family. The back deck has lots of seating for all. Great short walk to the beach with many beach chairs for us all to borrow. Various little broken things found throughout the home. Furniture was old and not very clean. No toaster. No dishwasher soap. Many soaps topped off with water or none at all. Many towels for all. Had difficulty with the AC not working with many people in the house and long delays of communication from the host with limited support and no direction of how it would be fixed - thus no AC for half our stay. Opened the windows to allow for airflow yet many screens had holes in them or no screens at all with bugs getting inside. Could use some updates of furniture, towels, etc for the amount of groups coming in and out and for items indicated on the list to be found in the home. In all, we enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and appreciated the space for us all to gather.

Convenient access to beach

We enjoyed the stay in general. Positive: easy and short access to beach; prompt response from manager; good size bedrooms; 1 full bath on each level. Concerns: some basic standard cooking utensils are missing (no toaster, only 2 burners in grill are working; only 1 shelf in oven; sparce cooking utensils )

House not ready for guests

The location is perfect. The house needs finished and cleaned. The couches were both grossly dirty. The basement room is not a bedroom. The second floor was ok- nice shower, but duct tape on the toilet seat. Thread bare towels- dirty back deck. Just doesn’t seem the house is done yet!

Nothing Exceptional

Pros: Close walk to the beach Plenty of bedrooms Crib for a baby 2 grills Kitchen decently stocked Towels were provided along with soap and toilet paper Owner sent back cleaners when we arrived and it still appeared dirty Washer and dryer were available Cons: Almost none of the doors fully worked. Knobs fell off, latches were lacking, knobs werent fully attatched to the door, etc. Knives in the kitchen were all very dull The couch and arm chair seemed dirty even after a 2nd cleaning Wooden chair on balcony was shattered All the chairs in the basement had holes on the seat and were not usable The basement couch was old and worn down Cracked toilet seat with a wonky knob Owner only responded to some texts The place is in desperate need of a deep, deep clean- not just cleaning what is immediately visable Honestly, the whole place lacked pride. With some extra love it could be a great VRBO and I hope the owner takes these comments into consideration.

Family reunion

Great for large group

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here for a women's getaway weekend. There were enough beds for everyone and the back deck is lovely. The house could use some updating and a few things to make it more convenient. For example, we assumed that there would be salt and pepper shakers, but there were none. The toilet seat on the upstairs bathroom has a crack which pinches when you sit down. The coffee maker had not been cleaned since the previous guests and there was coffee and grounds sitting in the filter. However, these were minor inconveniences and in general, we enjoyed our stay. The walk to the beach is lovely and we got a couple of great sunsets.
