Relax by the Waterfront at The Alvig House on Green Lake

"We stayed at this darling lake cottage for a month in August as a family of four. Our renting purpose was for overflow from our family cabin, also on the lake. What a great time with lots of wonderful memories made. Green lake is beautiful and clean and we love boat access to restaurants and the county park. The owners were very kind and easy to work with. If anything came up they were on it right away. The house is old, it’s cozy, and it’s on a lake… so expectations need to be set about bugs and critters and things you may come across… but that’s just kind of a typical cabin experience. We brought a lot of our own stuff to make the house feel like more of our own for the month. Pillows, bedding, etc so I can’t speak to that. The cabin itself is decorated cute and feels clean and safe. The neighbors are all incredibly friendly people. The house had most of what you’d need to enjoy a week or more at the property. We primarily ate out, but the kitchen was well-stocked.One thing I would forewarn people about is the zebra muscles that are attached to rocks in the water. They’re little black groups of shells attached to rocks that are harmless in and of themselves, but can be VERY sharp, so I’d recommend water shoes. Especially for littles. Overall a great, cute little cabin for a family. I’d definitely recommend staying! :-)"

"The house is in a great location-private with a nice driveway slightly into the woods yet a quick drive gets you to parks, groceries, restaurants. It is also an easy walk to access a bike/walking trail just down the road. It’s a beautiful house and had every kitchen appliance we could dream of and plenty of space for our extended family to hang out, play games and enjoy time together."

"Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at your vacation rental. The host was very responsive to me when we contacted him on various issues. The home was very clean and well stocked with what we needed. The indoor pool, hot tub and sauna were reall pluses for us. The bedrooms were spaced in such a way that there was a nice degree of privacy. We would have liked more open/spacious dining and living areas. They were rather narrow and the living room was focused on a TV, which is not a high priority for us.The back lawn was large and grassy which enabled our kids to run and play. The little sand beach by the lake was also enjoyable for the kids, like a large sandbox.The lake view was pretty, but weedy condition of it was disappointing to us adults (not the kids). We were hoping for a more conducive place to swim and fish from the shore or dock. We did, however, enjoy the paddle boards, kayak and lily pad. The host even came out one evening to rake lake weeds. Very nice fire pit and plenty of chairs to enjoy it.We think the home would be good in the winter, especially if the host would plow or shovel off of the lake a space for ice skating and had a wood burning stove."

"We had the best girls weekend at this property! Hannah, the host, was so communicative and the photos don’t even do it justice, we all wanted to move in! The beds and bedding were also the most comfortable clouds we’d all ever slept on at a rental property. The kitchen was well stocked with what you would need to cook minus spices and cooking oils so just bring those if you need them. We loved that the house had an extra fridge, full stand up freezer and a commercial ice machine along with plenty of beach towels and 2 washers and dryers which is so nice for an extended stay. We will be back for sure!!"
