It is a truly jaw dropping home away from home, designed and furnished with your every need in mind, and much more than your average "holiday rental".....it is like borrowing the home of your stylish friend for a dream vacation!
Conveniently located right on the coast and nestled between Fuengirola and Marbella. Calahonda is one of the most popular and family friendly property developments on the Costa del Sol and it is incredibly popular with UK and European tourists.
Calahonda is also in a great central position to easily access the many local amenities and beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol, and is perfect for a family Spanish villa holiday. The local area is very quite and safe both by day and night.
Malaga Airport is normally just a half hour drive away and with 10 superb golf courses all within a ten kilometre radius, Calahonda truly is the perfect villa holiday destination!
Our villa is in a very well established urbanisation / community, and many of these properties now have their own small pools. Luckily for us, this leaves us with a beautiful, safe, well maintained and under used 12 metre pool in the large garden, which is shared by a small number of properties. The pool area is easily accessible through our garden gate, and is less than 20 metres away from the villa door. It is not unusual that you will enjoy "exclusive" use of the pool, even in the high season! Check out our reviews!
The villa has a private garden with a south facing terrace that overlooks directly onto the pool, and is ideal for sunbathing, barbecues and al fresco dining. The terraced garden is accessed from the patio doors of the living room, the master bedroom and kitchen. The property is on three levels, (split levels) the lower level is the terrace and large living room and the middle level is the contemporary dining room with its own doors leading out to the small west facing terrace and the fully equipped modern kitchen The three large bedrooms and bathrooms are on the upper level.
Three small flights of 4 or 5 internal steps, link all levels of the villa. Access to the property is from the road via the carport rear door, to the villa is down a flight of exterior steps to the entrance door and terrace area. Hence we do not recommend the villa as suitable for the elderly, disabled and wheelchair users.
A rental car is not essential, but is recommended. However there are regular buses to Fuengirola and Marbella on the main A7 road every half hour, early till late.
Numerous restaurants, bars, minimarkets, supermarkets, shops, banks, pharmacy, medical centre, dentist, gym, car hire, tennis / paddle courts and the Siesta golf 9 hole course are all within a 5 or 10 minutes easy walk from the villa.
It takes a leisurely 15 minutes to walk down to the popular "Luna Beach", and a further 10 minutes easy walk on the board walk to the beautiful Marina at Cabopino and on to "Andy's beach".
Walk along the board walk in the opposite direction (Easterly direction) for about an hour of easy walking, this will take you past so many beaches and Chininguito's and arriving finally at the lovely beach side village of La Cala.
It normally takes about 15 minutes to drive to Marbella.
It normally takes about 20 minutes to drive to Puerto Banús.
It normally takes about 30 minutes to drive to Malaga airport.
It normally takes around 2 hours to drive up to the Sierra Nevada, mountain ski resort.
It normally takes around 2 hours to drive to either Seville or Granada.
It normally takes around 90 minutes to drive along the coast to Gibraltar.
It also normally takes around 90 minutes to drive inland to Ronda and almost the same to the incredible Caminito del Rey, to walk through the famous gorge at El Choro.
Please note that all stated drive times are of course just a guide, and are traffic conditions dependant on the day!

Induction hob, oven with grill, choice of coffee makers, a wide range of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, dishwasher, large American fridge / freezer with ice maker and filtered chilled water, (there is no need to buy bottled water any more) microwave, toaster, kettle, plenty of crockery and cutlery, everything that you might need.
DINING ROOM
Modern dining room with seating for up to six or eight people.
LIVING ROOM
Two large, modern Bo Concept sofas, a leather reclining chair, a large coffee table, wood burning fireplace, air conditioning, satellite TV (with many UK channels).

Bedroom 1: An extra large super king size bed with bedside tables, en-suite bathroom , large wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror, air conditioning, safe and patio doors leading to the terrace, radio and CD player
Bedroom 2: A large double bed (which can be converted to two single beds (upon request) with bedside tables, a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, mirror and air conditioning.
Bedroom 3: Two large single beds, bed side table, mirror, chest of drawers, clothes rail and air conditioning.

One en- suite with large bath, vanity table with washbasin, WC and shower over the bath.

ENTERTAINMENT
Internet TV with over 1000 channels, around 500 English channels, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 Channel 5 and Sky Sports 1,2,3,4,5 and F1, and a DVD player
A large electric awning over the terrace, comfortable rattan garden furniture (a sofa, two chairs, two luxury tilting sunbeds and a coffee table), there are also 4 more sunbeds, a outside dining table and six chairs, a gas barbecue grill and two portable parasols.
There is a magnificent 12 metre "shared" pool with a beautiful garden area and more sun loungers and parasols (the pool is directly in front of the villa, just 20 metres from the garden gate). There are outdoor garden lights, trees and plants around the perimeter of the terrace, and a small outside storage room that houses the washing machine and an additional drinks fridge. There is also a large cushion box to store the out door furniture cushions.
A HOME GYM
In the second rear terrace area there is a large, well-equipped, private and air-conditioned gym.
Equipment includes an elliptical trainer, a rowing machine and a weight bench. There is satellite TV and stereo music system inside the gym.
Here you will also find a range of children's beach toys left by previous guests which you are welcome to use, at your own risk! Plus a shopping trolley and an assortment of shopping bags.
SUITABILITY
The property is not wheelchair accessible. Built on a hillside the split-level design is not suitable for elderly or disabled people!
However, it is suitable for children (and a cot and mattress is available on request if required)
SWIMMING POOL
The beautiful, secure and safe 12 metre shared swimming pool and the magnificent large gardens and sun loungers are less than 20 metres from our garden gate and can be accessed directly from our private terrace.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Too many to mention, including along the waters edge the Senda Litoral (the new boardwalk) from Cabopino to La Cala, many beautiful blue flag beaches along the way. Plus many chiringuito's, bars, restaurants, banks, shops, parks, marina's, gym, tennis courts, Marbella old town and not forgetting some of the very best golf courses in Spain! Ten of them within 10 km of Calahonda!
Driving inland for about 90 minutes you will find the world famous "Caminito del Rey" gorge walk at El Choro. It is well worth a day out but you must book in advance, and it is only 12 Euros each and very popular year round and well worth a visit.
