"A very nice place and excellent pub food. We stayed in the "annex" across the street from the pub. As they warned, the staris were steep, so those with mobility issues may have trouble. The room was large and the bathroom was good. We only requested room cleaning once during our 6-night stay. The only minor issue was it seemed the common hallways and our room floor was not vacummed. All other services were excellent. We would definitely return to the Rose & Crown."

"Arrived and no one was on the desk and you couldn't enter the property, they all leave at 5pm so myself and another guest tried to reach them on the number pinned on the glass of the door (luckily my phone was charged). The key safes they want you to unlocked were not all numbered so we had to work out which one was ours, then they wouldn't unlock (this wasn't just me, another guest was with me attempting to unlock hers). Finally got it open, then got into my room. The floor was thick (hard to describe but like a carpet with residue locked in) and the bath was dirty (not sure if stained or just not cleaned correctly). The room was baking hot with a tall fan and windows that would not open. No breakfast was available at the property."

"Very disappointed with our stay. We discovered broken glass shards in the bathroom and around the room, resulting in both my 6 year old child and my husband standing on glass. We also had our 10 month old baby crawling around the room before we found the glass, making the situation extremely dangerous and upsetting. After inspecting the room further, we found more pieces of glass still left behind, clearly showing the room had not been cleaned or checked properly before our arrival. There was also a loose and uneven shelf under the bathroom mirror, which may have caused something to fall and smash previously. We stayed during one of the hottest weekends of the year. Although we knew the hotel had no air conditioning, the heating had been turned up to maximum when we arrived, making the room unbearably hot, especially with young children. The interaction with the bar staff was also disappointing. We politely asked for extra ice to help cool our children down, but the response was dismissive and rude, including comments questioning whether we had air conditioning at home. What made the experience worse was the hotel’s response to the broken glass. Very little sympathy or concern was shown, and we were asked if we had broken something ourselves. No meaningful apology, refund, or compensation was offered despite the seriousness of the issue. A hotel room should be clean, safe, and properly prepared for guests, especially families with young children. Unfortunately, this stay"

"Overall really enjoyed our stay and found the room to be nice. However, Room 1 could do with a bit more privacy esp in the bathroom as there was no way to completely cover the window and with the partially see through curtain you could see in and out. Sosie was amazing and provided some extra towels so we could make it a bit more private in there. I found her to be super friendly and welcoming. In addition whilst every staff member was friendly Sosie felt very genuine."

"This wasn’t our favorite stay. •Broken lift •Leaking toilet •Gurgling sink •pullout bed a health hazard for a child where the metal arms are. •musty smell from air conditioning unit. On the plus side breakfast was nice and the staff were friendly. We didn’t ask to switch room as after lugging all our luggage and pram, two children upstairs didn’t have the energy and also had a feeling all the rooms would be similar. We wouldn’t return to this hotel."

"This location was unusually nice. Yes, the rooms are above a pub, but it was very quiet, at least while we were there. The staff were very nice and helpful. The parking is a bit of a walk, down the street at the local race track, which has a very secure locked gate to their lot. It was included in the price and wasn't an issue for us. The breakfast was extra special. A wide variety of items to choose from. I would return just to sit and have breakfast again. Extremely pleasantly surprised by our stay there."

"We stayed here for one night to go to the comedy festival at Warwick castle which was an easy short walk. The hotel was lovely and the staff were all helpful and friendly. I couldn’t park in the small car park but was able to park in Sainsbury’s a 2 minute walk and they reimbursed my parking charge. The room we had was lovely - quirky with a seating and sleeping area separate. Cooked breakfast was a delicious bonus!"
