The Mohawk Trail House

The Mohawk Trail House....right at the doorstep of the great north! (Right next door to the Little Brown House, the sister to this house) Located near the snowmobile trail, the Trail House is your perfect getaway. This two bedroom house has all the amenities that you need for a comfortable stay. A queen bed in the master bedroom, a double bed in the second bedroom, and a fold away mattress if needed. Fully stocked kitchen, cooking facilities, coffee bar, and a large refrigerator. Outside, the Trail House has a large yard for parking or to sit and enjoy the evening on your wrap-around deck. Also includes washer and dryer to use during your stay. Slim's Cafe (best cinnamon buns in town!) and the Glacia Tavern are within walking distance. Mt. Bohemia is a short 20 minute ride. Come to ski, snowmobile, snowshoe, hike, swim, fish or relax at this perfect "home away from home".

Great location in the Keweenaw

Very clean property. Comfortable bed. Well stocked kitchen or walk to the Glacia next door for dinner. Nice deck, bbq, and chairs if you want to ready in. Convenient location forvanyv travels around the Peninsula.

Mohawk Surprise!

What an absolute gem in the middle of nowhere which is perfect! We came to watch the NCAA tournament in the UP with good friends and we were not disappointed. Super clean and comfortable. Great restaurants are within a stone's throw, too!Gregg S.

Cozy Place

Looked for a place near Mt Bohemia. Found this cozy and comfortable place. 20-25 minute drive to Mt Bohemia. There is Slim's cafe right across the road, and the Glacia tavern two doors down. Highly recommended the Mohawk house.

Multiple Stays

This is our third stay in less than a year and have a fourth reservation. Marc & Bette are friendly and very prompt with communication. The house is as described and has always been clean. When available, this is now our go to for lodging in Keweenaw :)

Wonderful Rental!

Very clean and convenient rental. Great "home base" for all points Keweenaw. Reserving and checkin super easy and owners great with communication. Home had everything we needed for two couples for a long weekend getaway. Highly recommend!

Mohawk stay

Bette was great as always. This was our third time returning to the property. While the snow was a bit thin we made the best of it and got some miles on the snowmobiles. Calumet is a really neat town with some historic buildings and was a fun visit. Beers at Keweenaw Brewing never disappoint. Slims Cafe across the road is a definite favorite.

cute little house

We enjoyed our stay at this cute little house. It's very tastefully decorated and had everything our family of 5 needed. It's conveniently located about halfway between Houghton and Copper Harbor, where we spent most of our time. Also, Slim's Cafe across the street serves a great breakfast.

Great All-around Place to Stay

We enjoyed our stay very much! The place was clean and neat and updated. We had everything we needed. The Trail House had a nice deck that wrapped around the back and we spent much of our time there. It was private and perfect. Mohawk was centrally located to the Keeweenaw and we were able to easily see most of the Keeweenaw without driving too far..

Mt. Bohemia Ski trip

This is our second stay at the Mohawk Trail house and we would highly recommend this property. The house is not fancy but it is well maintained and very clean. The kitchen is well stocked. Two excellent restaurants are located within walking distance of the house. The owners were very timely in plowing the parking lot after 2 significant snowfalls. It is just a 20 minute drive to Mt. Bohemia. Thanks Marc and Bette for another great stay

Cozy and comfortable

The location was very convenient. Right in the middle of all the places we visited so the drive time wasn't that long. The house was very cozy! It was already stocked with normal household items you would need like towels for the bathroom, laundry detergent for the washroom, silverware and plates etc.....The Slim's restaurant right across the street had amazing breakfast food. All in all it was a great vacation. Thanks again!

Another excellent stay at the Trail House!

We enjoyed our stay at the Trail House this year as we have in years past. The home is always clean, comfortable and pleasant and the kitchen well-stocked with supplies. There are always plenty of towels in the bathroom. The Wifi is dependable, the windows clean and, most important, the coffee maker always functions. Even with Hwy. 41 being mere yards away the place is still quiet. I highly recommend the Trail House for your Keweenaw adventures.

Nice Cottage on the UP

This home was compact, but very clean and had many thoughtful touches like well-placed night lights, a good bread knife, etc. The hosts checked in with us to be sure we had no problems and we were doing fine. The home is on a highway, so there is a bit road noise, but it is located so that neither Copper Harbor or Houghton seemed too far to go. The house book had some good recommendations for restaurants and we had a nice meal at Fitzgerald's. It was great to have the ability to do some laundry while we were there. We were there in early May, so some things were not open (Slim's,for example), but then we did not have tourist crowds and traffic to deal with, so we still had a good stay.
