Amazing place for a getaway! My family stayed a couple days to ski at Monarch (first time skiing there). The cabin was very clean, cozy, and an amazing view. Loved having the wood stove available in the evenings. Hoping to stay again for more skiing - and to explore the area in the summer.
Had a great time with our family at this cabin. It was closely located to Monarch for skiing. Love the fireplace and the views will be back again soon.
Comfortable accommodations in a quaint cabin with the sound of a river lulling you to sleep. Very close to multiple awesome hikes. Close enough to Salida for dinner or groceries.
We had an excellent time. The cabin was both unique and comfortable. We loved the amazing views and the quiet surroundings!! We were also able to take advantage of the proximity to Salida with all the great food, hiking, and scenery.
It was an amazing cabin with great history and beautiful, peaceful surroundings. Make sure you read the welcome letter that gives specific directions to get to the house! We enjoyed our stay!
This cozy remodeled cabin was perfect for our family. We loved the layout of the cabin, and the deck in the back gave us amazing views of the valley. It had all the amenities we could want, and when we needed something, the hosts were quick to respond and easy to work with. Perfect launching point for many of the adventures to be had in Chaffee county!
We love staying at this cabin. This is our third say here and we love the quiet location, the pretty view from the deck, and the closeness to town. It's rustic and extremely comfortable. This place has all the amenities we need. The kitchen is great. And the check-in process was a breeze. We will stay here often!
This cabin was a perfect place to relax and recharge after days of hiking and exploring. The deck is ideal for stargazing and for watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee in the morning. Beds are super comfortable, and the sounds of the nearby creek lulled us to sleep. The kitchen has everything we needed for preparing meals.
Overall, thus is a nice, clean property. If you want rest and stargazing from the deck it's great. The downside is a 20 minute drive into Salida, which was fine. The little grouping of homes here are very close together. People definitely know you're visiting.
My husband and I were very pleased with this VRBO. The home was very clean, looked exactly like the pictures, well stocked, and had clear communication and instructions from the Property Managers. It was an easy 5-7 minute drive to Monarch, which was our primary reason for staying in Garfield, and had everything plus more to meet our needs. They even left puppy poop bags next to the house keys for our fur babies. Would recommend and stay here again!
We loved everything about the cabin! The location, view, it was very cozy.
It would have been helpful to have had the porch light on since we arrived in the evening. Cleaning service needs to do more dusting there were Cobb Webbs on the dinning lights for the cost we paid for cleaning service.
Really nice cabin. Just the right size for 2 people and two dogs. Quite and the deck was amazing along with view. The only negative was that we had to find dog parks for the pups. No place for them to potty but on gravel or by the dumpster. Wouldn't bring them back. Overall this place was a winner.
The place was beautiful and clean, the Mountain View’s were perfect for the weekend! We had a very difficult time finding the right location as the directions from the listing take you to a house across the street with the same address. It was dark and snowing when we arrived and as the listing said, there’s no service or WiFi available so make sure you screenshot the pages like it says because it’s a lifesaver! Overall, loved it!!
Husband and I stayed 4 nights. Loved the location, nice quiet area with beautiful view and river right below and was only around 20 minute drive to downtown Salida. WiFi was decent and kitchen well stocked. We had everything we needed. My only complaint is the mattress. The bed was so hard. I will say I am use to sleeping on a memory foam mattress, but still I travel and it’s been a long time since I have tried to sleep on something that hard. Other than that everything was perfect.
Stayed here for a long weekend ski trip at Monarch and the location couldn’t have been better! Only a few minutes from the resort even with weekend morning traffic, and the home itself is incredibly cozy. Beautiful views, a warm shower, wood-burning stove, in-unit laundry, nice open kitchen — we couldn’t have asked for a better dog-friendly place to stay!
Only thing that was confusing is another home in the small town of Garfield shares this property’s street address. Be sure you’re at the correct home when checking in or you might look like you’re trespassing. Thankfully the neighbors helped me out!
This was a great home base for us as we explored nearby Salida. The view off the back deck was serene, and we loved hearing the creek down below. We all slept with the windows open and that creek was our white noise! We had a challenge when checking in because the lock box was not where the instructions said it would be. Also, the cabin's only bathroom is on the "second" level across from the bedroom with the smaller bed. If you stay in the room with the queen bed, you'll have to climb the stairs if you're up in the night for the bathroom. An agency manages this property, so the level and type of communication is not what I see when I'm communicating directly with an owner.
