Alfords Getaway 2 Master Suites, Double Dock with Beautiful Views

Fantastic Waterfront home on Smith Mountain Lake. This home features 3 bedrooms with 2 master suites. Located roughly in the middle of the lake area in a wide deep cove you are close to all of the action yet still isolated enough for simple peace and quiet. High Speed internet by Comcast Xfinity.

Enjoy the sunset views while gazing out over the cove and the main channel. Plenty of good fishing and water sports for everyone. No one has a bad time around here.

Our dock with its party deck is included in your rental. Whether you want to spend the day in the water or just relaxing on the party deck this home has it all. Floating dock has a newly added swim ladder for the 2025 rental season. Corn Hole, 2 kayaks with life jackets and paddles are included in your rental fees for your enjoyment.

The home has 3 bedrooms each with an attached full bathroom and outside access to either the upper or lower deck. The upper has a gas grill, table and chairs for outdoor dining and 2 loungers for relaxing or napping in the shade. The lower deck boasts a swing and table and chairs.

We take pride in keeping the home clean and everything in working order. All furnishing are in nearly new condition and specifically selected for your comfort. The owner takes pride in landscaping but does ask renters avoid parking on the grass due to the sprinkler system. A driveways with a double parking and turn around area is available for your convivence.

To insure a pleasant environment for all our guests smoking is not allowed inside the home.

Wonderful Home and Cove

Alford's Getaway is a beautiful home on a very nice cove. The kitchen is well-stocked and easy to move around in when there is more than one person cooking. The bedrooms and bathrooms are nice, very clean and give you privacy. The beds are comfortable. The cove is deep and the water clean. The dock is nice and great for sitting and relaxing. We had a great time!

Amazing stay!

Impeccably clean, very spacious, beautiful dock, and views!! The kitchen is completely stocked with everything needed, and the propane grill was brand new! We have owned two beautiful lakefront homes, so we are pretty picky about frontage, etc. and this home surpassed our expectations. So thoroughly enjoyed our time there!

We had a wonderful stay at Alfords Getaway. The house was sparkling clean and very comfortable. We appreciated that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The kitchen was well-equipped. Coffee on the porch was a highlight each morning. Everything worked well. The information binder was clear with great explanations. It was a peaceful retreat for us. We will look forward to returning one day.

Perfect vacation house

This house has everything needed for a week away from home. It is one of the cleanest vacation houses we have stayed at. The covered back porch was my favorite part. Perfect for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. Our sons loved fishing off the dock every night. We would definitely come back.

Highly recommend!

This was our third time staying at this house. Location on the lake is very convenient to Jake’s Place, Drifter’s, Portside and the bridge. The dock is perfect for our boat. The house is very clean and well stocked. We cooked several meals on the grill and ate every meal on the deck. We also enjoyed morning walks in the neighborhood. We celebrated my husband’s 50th birthday by picking up a delicious carrot cake by boat from the Smith Mountain Lake Coffee House. Highly recommend this house!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Alford’s gateway. Location is pretty convenient. House was very clean, well equipped, the only think we wished for was Wi-Fi. But it didn’t take away from all 5 star review. The best thing was lake view and access. We will definitely consider renting it again. Thank you Betty for making it so welcoming!

Wonderful getaway on SML

The 6 of us traveled to SML from Arkansas to have a family reunion. My brother lives across the cove from this property and recommended it to us. It was perfect for our party of 6 adults. Had 3 large bedrooms, each with their own full bath, a well stocked kitchen, laundry room, 2 living areas, 2 beautiful porches, and a dock with kayaks available for our use. We could not have asked for better accommodations, we appreciate how well kept the property is, the ease of check in and out, and the responsiveness of the owners. Thank you Alford’s Getaway for the wonderful memories we made on SML!

Alford’s Home Away from Home!!

A pleasure arriving to this lovely, fresh smelling home on the lake! Easy communication with the owners. Views from lakeside rooms were amazing. We loved drinking coffee on the top balcony where chipmunks entertained us below. We rented a pontoon and easily docked it at the property dock. Use of the owner’s crock pot was a nice touch for a home cooked pot roast. All appliances were easy to use and kitchen was well stocked with dishes, flatware, utensils, etc. Our favorite restaurant on the water was Napoli. Several excellent restaurants (Bull Docks, Bella Vita Italian) were a short drive from the property as well as the grocery store and Bridgewater Marina. Stay here if you’re looking for a lovely vacation on SML!!

Loves the kayaks

My family and I had a great time at this lake house. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ever want, crockpot, toaster oven, toaster, coffee pot. The owners thought of everything from flashlights to cleaning products. We did bring our Keurig for convenience and an air fryer would have been a bonus but probably hard to keep clean. The grill was fabulous and huge and the owner left us a new grill sponge to clean it with in between uses. The outdoor spaces are great and it’s perfect for a big family. There are a few downsides that others have noted like the very steep driveway and access to the lake which is typical of the lake. I am 60 so only went down to the lake once but younger folks didn’t seem to have an issue. I enjoyed my view from the deck so didn’t miss going down to the dock. The stairs are also steep going down to the lower level where there are 2 bedrooms so mine was upstairs. Again the younger folks didn’t seem to have a problem. In the master upstairs the shower was small and not very powerful and well water makes you hair kinda flat but since we were just family it didn’t really matter much. And the shower head was handheld so I was able to adjust for the low water pressure. The feeling of the house is very comfortable. It felt like I was staying at a relatives house. For the most part it was quiet and serene. The neighbors were nice and let us borrow their air compressor to blow up some floats. I would highly recommend this lake house.

The property is very well maintained. Wonderful back porch and dock. Kitchen is well stocked with anything needed to make meals. Great tasting well water is a bonus! This was our 2nd visit and we intend to return. Thank you Alfords!!

We had a wonderful time with our adult children. The home is spacious with plenty of room and the porch and dock are also spacious for families to gather. Everything was clean and in great condition for a weekend get away.

Affords getaway

Wonderfully kept property....super clean and right near the action...lake central...but remarkably quite cove with mature trees that shade the house. Great dock... swimming and kayaking is a must at the lake! Doesn't feel like a rental....feels like you're borrowing you aunt and uncle's place. Great communication from owners. A+++
