The River Queen has long been considered one of the premier riverfront vacation rentals in West Sonoma County. Originally built in 1930, the River Queen is a unique blend of old and new. The ideal location for a family reunion, multi-family vacation, work retreat, or friends getaway. Highlights include: an enclosed sun porch overlooking the back decks and the River – with three separate seating areas; a large redwood deck with multiple levels, seating and dining areas, and a full-sized hot tub set in a fairy ring of majestic redwoods. Concrete stairs lead directly down to the River with a seasonal concrete dock. There are kayaks, a canoe, and inflatable flotation devices. Located within minutes of town, shopping, and Northwood Golf Club – an Alister MacKenzie designed nine-hole golf course, hiking trails, and the Pacific Ocean. The house has more than 5000 square feet of living area. A wonderful place for group activities, but large enough for everyone to have their own space to relax and enjoy.

Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights, lock the doors, and return the keys
Please gather used towels and place them in the laundry bins in the laundry room. Unused towels may be left in bathrooms. Used sheets may be left on slept in beds.
Please throw away any used food items such as to go food containers. Unopened food and drinks may be left for housekeeping and will be appreciated!
In addition to all windows and doors, please be sure to lock the hot tub, the gate to the river and return all boats to the storage area under the deck ensuring they are locked.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Amazing River Home

The River Queen is everything we wanted it to be. Amazing location, incredibly comfortable and clean, and spacious. Our family felt fortunate to have time there to enjoy all it had to offer.

A quiet place to gather, relax, float, soak, socialize and unwind. Plenty of space for a group to gather and spread out. Activities of all sorts nearby for all sorts.

Wonderful stay!

The River Queen was the perfect venue for our annual family vacation. Our group of 10 consisted of two 70-somethings, four 40-somethings, one teenager, and three preteens. There were ample activities for everyone, despite the fact that the unseasonably chillly weather kept us indoors more than we had anticipated. Nonetheless, mornings spent watching herons, otters, and other local “wildlife,” coupled with chill afternoons made for a great stay. The location was great, the house well appointed, and the whole booking process seamless. All 10 of us would be happy to return!

The River Queen is simply amazing

What an amazing location - right on the river in a quaint town next to a absolute gem of a golf course. Would love to come back here. Plentiful amenities at the home with lots of entertainment, a hot tub within the redwoods, and the Russian River. Would love to come back!

Amazing trip with friends

We had such a great time at the River Queen! There are so many things to do both at the house and in the surrounding area. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment. We really enjoyed the game tables downstairs and the hot tub in the redwoods. Would absolutely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Beautiful home!

We were celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary. All our kids came into town and was thrilled with the size of the home. We had a wonderful 5 days. We definitely are planning a trip back in warmer weather.

Perfect for a few families

Spent 5 nights with 3 families. Ideal river access and great layout for cooking for our crew. Boats and kayaks available on site instead of driving to rent them was also very convenient. Hoping to book again and make it an annual trip.

Annual get together

Lots of room for a party of 10. Loved the views, hot tub and river access. The game room was a hit! We had many pool and ping pong tournaments. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything you could ever need for a large group. The furniture was very comfy and offered many places to sit and chat or enjoy the view

Great large house with lots of space for a large group. We were a group of eight friends and each had private sleeping space which is really nice. Very accommodating Management. Highly recommend it for a large group.

Mom’s Retreat

We had a wonderful time kayaking and camping down the river, playing pool and ping pong as well as soaking in the hot tub enjoying the natural beauty of the Russian River. We had dinner at the Rio Cafe and we all had a blast!

Beautiful and restful getaway

Our family of seven adults and four children loved our stay at The River Queen. Plenty of room for kids to play and adults to visit. The redwood trees surrounding the property and the hot tub in the middle of a towering stand of redwoods were spectacular. The kitchen was well equipped, and the gas grill made meal prep easy.

Perfect Stay for big family

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The house is a little outdated but it's equipped with a new stove and fridge (a plus) the view is amazing. Kids enjoy the hot tub. Kayaks were locked up, I believed it was not in season.

Family reunion

Our family had stayed there 10 years ago. The place was as well maintained and equipped now as then...maybe even better. Great for families.i Minor note: Kayak still leaks despite patch .
