"I love Bar-Mel! It has been around for many years, so don't expect fancy, but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. The staff is awesome. A young man named Mo helped me with the tv remote when I couldn't find the volume button. I must have had a senior moment! He was so kind and even gave me a big hug!"

We spent wonderful, relaxing hours on the spacious deck and dock (our favorites!); both outside and in the cabin we had everything we needed and more. The host, Scott, was super communicative, very hospitable, and helpful and accommodating to us in every way. Would love to stay here again!"

"Step out of franchise and discover a 1910 brick built structure that has all the charm and details of an Abbeville historical treasure. The clean room included a quilt covered bed that was comfortable, and the room included refrigerator and microwave. The best part was continental breakfast on a lovely veranda. The site is its original center of downtown, so don’t expect gardens…but I was sad to leave the over-stuffed wicker chair and resume my trip home."
