Addison Choate Inn

"We had a mostly pleasant stay, room clean, pretty & comfortable. The inn itself was lovely & well located + we enjoyed the bikes available to ride. However we were very disappointed breakfast was not included which we typically look forward to when staying at an inn (and they had in the past). There was no mention of it either way on the website or listing while another nearby hotel had it on their homepage. My fault I guess for not emailing or calling the inn directly to confirm, but just assumed & would also be nice to let us know w a note and suggestions on where to get breakfast nearby. Also unexpectedly no front desk or anyone to greet when you arrive, it’s all contactless w an envelope left on door for arrival. It felt more like an Airbnb which would have been fine if expectations were set ahead of time in their listing or website. We found it expensive for not having these services/amenities that most inns have and wish we had known before booking. Also turned off on last day when checking out and told by woman cleaning rooms (who was lovely) that we could get ice in the kitchen in front of a gentleman who didn’t give us time of day to even say hello but in the kitchen he came in aggressively and said “what’s up?!” Snarkily as in “get out”. I think he was one of the owners. I told him we were just getting the ice we were directed to and he turned abruptly & went down basement stairs. Unfortunately left us with unwelcome negative feeling."

"A 5 minute walk to the shops! Quaint, Adorable place to lay your head for the night. We stayed in the twin bed room/suite, and it was perfect for us! Super comfortable beds, super clean place with nice furnishings. It was also quiet and we both slept like babies."

"My kids (10 and 12) and I really enjoyed staying here. The town is adorable and everything is within walking distance. The condo was easy to find and get into, with a cute view of the shops lining the street. The parking situation could be frustrating to some, but we live in a city without off-street parking so we’re used to it. The only day I chose to pay to park was when we went to the beach so I wouldn’t have to lug all of our stuff the whopping .3 miles lol. The rest of the time I parked for free on School street which was also .3 miles from the condo (opposite direction of the beach). There are a few things you should know before you go:•It’s a very old building and the floors are very wonky. Be careful if you aren’t sure footed, it kinda made me feel drunk.•The shower is so tiny! I’m 5’3/120 and it was tight for me, definitely couldn’t shave my legs in there.•The smell as soon as you enter the building is off putting, very old and musty, however the condo smells fine. I only say this because we drove 8 hours in the rain and traffic, and my first impression was “oh no”…. but it was all good once we got upstairs!All in all definitely worth the stay!"
