"Had a great stay with a good sized room and a neat view from the little balcony. Some recent renovations evident made for a tidy stay. Great staff were all very helpful and professional."

"This hotel is tired and dated. Whilst the staff make every effort to be great hosts the whole venue lacks any wow factor. The walls are damaged and marked - rips out of wallpaper. There are no lifts so you can expect to carry your own luggage up the stairs. My bathroom was full of hair when I arrived, I asked for it to be cleaned. The manager sent the trainee from the restaurant up to clean with a microfibre cloth - at 10pm they arrived with a vacuum. Dinner was a shambles - ordered a Medium Rare steak - it was medium well, served with YELLOW broccoli and 'bubble n squeak' was mash with cabbage mixed through. To compensate for the state of my room I was offered breakfast complementary - declined. Beds are comfortable, showers need a deep clean to remove all the mold from the edges. Disappointing venue and should not carry the Distinction Branding - no comparison to Christchurch. Management should invest in the whole venue. Expensive accomodation for what received"

"A classic kiwi Bach with incredible views to watch the sunset. Location is great with a short drive to Ocean Beach and walking distance to smugglers bay. Worth getting groceries on your way out as there are no shops nearby (20min drive). Old couches, some dirty dishes and filthy dish brush which wasn’t great, but otherwise comfy bed and has all the basics for a relaxed weekend away.Some outdoor loungers / furniture to go on the deck would be great to make the most of lounging at the Bach. Thanks so much!"

"Had a lovely stay here with my fur baby. The house was immaculately clean and well presented. The covered deck was really great and I spent most of the time I was there sitting out there. The beach is just a very short walk thru the reserve and is absolutely stunning. We had some good swims and walks. The facilities in the house were good. Lounge is very comfy and welcoming. Lots of outdoor furniture to while away the time on. Thanks very much Carrie. "
