"Very quaint old building turned into a "hotel", off the beaten path, Very quiet. Cute reading nook off the bedroom overlooking the gardens. Very helpful staff, very nice entrance/bar/restaurant area. Unfortunately, they have a hard time getting staff. Poor morning breakfast lady was all by herself trying to make us all breakfasts. (And probably affects corners not getting cleaned of spiders)"

"The hotel is pet-friendly, which was a big plus for us, and our dog was made very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, but a special mention has to go to Christine at reception, who was exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was particularly comfortable. As the hotel is right beside the harbour, there was some noise from the road and boats, even with the window closed, but this is understandable given the location. Breakfast had a good selection and there was plenty of choice to suit different tastes. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Tara. We would be happy to stay again, especially when travelling with our dog."

"Everything about this place is clean and tidy. My only complaint is that the room was small. No place to put a small weekend suitcase in the bedroom and the bathroom needs some small shelves for tooth paste ,razor, etc. Just Continental breakfast was all that was available in the morning."

"Had a short break there. Good central place for touring. Lovely views at the back, easy parking. Comfortable place. Steep stairs to upper flat so not good for those with mobility issues. Ground floor flat would be fine."
