Room was dirty. Trash in room from previous guests including soiled Q-tips on floor. Shower and commode dirty with pubic hairs, etc. Shower scum on tub and shower curtain. Television did not work. Desk staff were indifferent to our concerns. Overall a terrible experience not becoming Best Western standards.

We enjoyed our one night. If I may suggest one thing. The staff when we checked in were unprofessional and frankly I had some apprehensions of staying here. There was a young heavier guy eating at the desk and it just seemed a bit unprofessional.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean, but the rooms were very old, for example the sink faucet was not attached to the vanity. The motel hosts a lot of permanent residents. There was a large Hispanic population that seemed to live at the motel full time because they had permanent tents and grills in the parking lot. We did not leave our room after dark for safety reasons. I would stay at the Hampton Inn next door if I had to stay in the Murphy, NC area again.
