Great location, it’s close to everything you want to see and visit in Karen, restaurants, etc. Excellent cleaning staff. Just one thing really irked me, mosque
Spotlessly clean. Great showers, comfortable beds. Very friendly, kind and accommodating staff. It’s a great place to start or end your trip to Kenya as it’s in a quiet, peaceful part of Nairobi, with a beautiful secluded garden full of birds. The on site cafe provides a good selection of food and drink. There is a little shop on site selling items made by women at a project to support their lives. We loved it here.
Super pleased with our stay here! The room was clean, cutely decorated with lots of space. Shower was big and had ample hot water (after about 30 secs of running).
Staff was very friendly with extra props for the kitchen crew and chefs. The food was so good at the end of our Nairobi trip we returned to Acacia Tree just to eat.
This is a very cosy place to stay. Despite being a hotel, you get the feeling of being at home with very intentional and friendly customer service. The staff were extremely warm and proactive in offering help. And the food options from Zeke’s Cafe, right on the property, were excellent! Can’t rave too much about this place that provides excellent customer service, all for a greater good!
We had a wonderful stay at the Acacia Tree Lodge before & after our safari in Masai Mara. The staff was extremely accommodating with our late arrival & early departure before our bushplane flight, holding our bags, and helping us arrange a driver for a day trip out of Nairobi. The location is excellent - very convenient, safe, and easy to get Ubers. The breakfast was tasty and nutritious with some days having a buffet & omelette station and other days having a set menu that you order from with lots of options. We had coffee, tea, juices, egg dishes, beans, sausage, muffins, fruit, and more. We had dinner one night that was just ok, there are so many great restaurants in Nairobi and Karen that I would recommend going elsewhere. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the bathrooms had great showers and lots of hot water (no conditioner). We thought it was amazing value, an enjoyable stay, and would definitely stay again / recommend to other travelers. Pictures online are accurate if a little underselling the place!

We were not lucky on the night we stayed. There was a power outage late night in parts of Kenya and hotel’s power generator was on and it made loud noises. We could not sleep well. We understood that it was not hotel’s fault. All the staffs there are very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good and sufficient. We will come back after our safari trip and we hope room will be quiet.
I traveled to Africa for the first time and as a solo woman. I could not have made a better choice than the Acacia Tree Lodge.
The staff’s attention to details and to my comfort made this the perfect choice.
Their mission and profits support the local community and the staff is courteous, professional and well trained.
Stevenen, the concierge, was kind enough to arrange a driver for me, Micah. His kindness and professionalism, as well as his knowledge of the area and attractions provided me a perfectly curated experience in central Kenya. I recommend them most highly particularly if you are visiting Africa for the first time or planning a solo trip.
Acacia Tree Lodge is a place with a very welcoming atmosphere. The service is excellent. Food is always served quickly and is great. Rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and comfortable. When in Nairobi again, I hope to be back.
The best choice in Nairobi away from unpersonal chain hotels. At Acacia we really felt home. The rooms are decorated with a lot of attention to the detail. The matress is amazing (by far the best we had on our trip!). And the best thing is: you are doing something good for the people. The proceeds are used in the New Hope projects in the Kibera neighbourhood. Thanks especially to the lovely and welcoming staff! We will be back :)
Staff is excellent. I only had one meal, breakfast and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Sleep wasn’t great, there’s a lot of mosquitoes with no net to protect yourself. I had to literally hunt and kill them before going to sleep but a ton were still buzzing around my face which I were too lazy to hunt them down.
Cleanliness landscape
I was shown a room with a kitchen on the web when I booked but I stayed in a room without kitchen. My best stay in Kenya. Keep it up!
I thought the reviews were too good to be true, but the Acacia Tree really is a gem, and at a great price! The hotel and rooms were very clean and tastefully decorated, bed was comfy, and staff were friendly. Karen is also a lovely part of Nairobi and close to some of the best attractions (car or Uber needed). I will definitely be back if I can get a room again at this top rated hotel.
All staff were excellent -- friendly, attentive, and always provided excellent service. The property is clean and well maintained however small. The photo you see is it for the lobby/dining room. I rolled right out of the twin bed and onto the floor. It was just small.
The hotel stands in well maintained gardens in a secure and serene environment, in a quiet residential area, away from the traffic and noise of downtown Nairobi.
Within easy reach of giraffe centre and Nairobi National Park together with Wilson airport, as well as new shopping malls and local bars.
Beautiful property with good food and very friendly staff. Convenient location in Karen near David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Center, and Karen Blixen Meuseum.
The location of the Acacia Tree Lodge is excellent, the property secure & clean and our stay was very enjoyable. Would highly recommend this Lodge as a delightful alternative to the high priced options in this area.
