Le Gemma was the perfect spot to stay to visit historical old town. Centrally located on Piazza Dante. Easy access to the metro. Gemma is a superior hostess. So friendly and helpful with suggested places to eat and visit. Our second time in Naples. We’d stay here again!

La Gemma was a beautiful place to stay. The host, Gemma, was such a lovely and hospitable person, making us feel welcome the moment we booked. She went above and beyond with our room and booking, walking us through maps of the area and events happening during our stay. She was also so kind and playfor with our 1 year old, giving her toys and making her a balloon animal. Breakfast was tailored and delicious. Overall a fantastic stay.

Gemma did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is a bit hard to get to with 2 flights of stairs after the elevator. The b and b is in a great location to walk to many attractions.

Clean and well-lit rooms convenient located in Naples. Bathrooms are well stocked with anything you may need. While the rooms themselves are lovely, the biggest perk of La Gemma is the owner, who went above and beyond to give us a good experience. She was a wealth of information in terms of navigating the city, and she bakes home made cakes for breakfast. She even went as far to pack us a bag of breakfast for our early train.

The person at check in was very informative and helpful!! The stairs although we knew ahead of time they were still a lot. Also it was confusing where the B&B was we wondered around trying to find the place for about 10 minutes. We were confused as to why they show pictures in the description of a terrace when you can not use it except to come and go to the property. The bed was not comfortable but luckily we were In a room with a twin and a queen so I used a twin bed the second night and slept well.

Ideal B and B in the heart of the city

Well-situated b and b in central Naples,walking distance of all major sights and right next to Dante metro. Host Gemma is very helpful ,knowledgeable,and communicative ensuring a very pleasant stay eg supplying us with a cool box to use in the room. The room is quiet with efficient double glazing and kept dark for sleeping with roller shutters in the velux windows which act as blackouts. The bathroom is a good size with all usual amenities, the shower strength we had though was just about adequate. Breakfast foods and drink are pre-ordered for a time you state, all very tasty and continental. We especially liked the homemade cake and yoghurt. A very welcome addition to the room was a kettle with dfferent sorts of teas (not coffee) provided. All black, no milk, standard for Italy !

From the moment we arrived, Gemma ( the owner) couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and at home! She told us all the best places to visit, eat etc and was only ever a call/message away. She speaks great English and French too. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink too. Our room was pretty, clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable, including a kettle an tea-making facilities. Although in central Naples, the B&B is very calm and quiet and a lovely refuge from the noise and bustle of the city! Breakfast was included and again, Gemma was always there to ensure everyone had what they needed :-) La Gemma is ideally situated for visiting everything of interest in Naples! It's a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral, seconds away from the "Centro Storico" and a 15 minute walk from the Piazza Plebiscito and the sea-front. There is a metro station on the square "Dante" so main transport links and the airport are also easy to reach. We would wholeheartedly recommend La Gemma for couples or individuals wanting a "home from home" in Naples! Thanks again, Gemma, we had a lovely stay! :-)

Lovely stay

We had a lovely stay at La Gemma B&B. It is situated in a rooftop suite on the Piazza Dante. Naples is a very lively city and as soon as you step through the front doors of the building your day starts to quiet down. After an elevator ride and a flight of stairs, you get to the rooftop suite and are immediately engulfed in Gemma's kind and gracious hospitality. The room we had was lovingly decorated, well appointed, clean and comfortable. In the morning Gemma provides a fine breakfast which included delicious homemade yogurt and pound cake along with standard fare. We enjoyed meeting Gemma and Fabio and staying in their well located B & B.

It is in a great position, on Piazza Dante, and in a grand old building. Gemma was extremely welcoming and sociable, and full of useful tips on places to go and places to eat. The room was delightful and comfortable. Nice breakfast. There are about 130 stairs to climb, mainly old stone ones, unless you use the lift. This needs a 20c piece until 7 pm. It is a pity that you can't really use the terrace, because of neighbours. But overall an excellent choice.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits à Naples, chez Gemma, hôte très accueillante, aux petits soins pour ses invités, toujours joignable, et qui parle très bien français. Naples est une ville bouillonnante et très bruyante mais une fois dans notre chambre, nous étions au calme ! Notre chambre était spacieuse, très propre, et avec la clim. Le petit déjeuner était somptueux !

Excellent emplacement

Emplacement idéal, très bons conseils et bonne humeur de Gemma, chambre spacieuse et propre. L’hôtel est sous les toits, dans un immeuble charmant, mais les chambres sont lumineuses grâce aux velux. Nous conseillons !

Wir befanden die Gegend um unsere Unterkunft herum als sehr gefährlich, dreckig wie in den Slums. Hier könnte man gute Mafia Filme drehen 🙉 Essen: Pizza, das war die beste Pizza die ich jemals gegessen habe. Verkehr: furchtbar… am besten das Auto in einer Garage für ein paar Tage stehen lassen. In der Nähe der Unterkunft haben wir für 4Tage 100 Euro bezahlt. Lage: zu Fuß ist alles super zu erreichen. Eine Metro Station direkt am Dante Platz. Unterkunft: Die Unterkunft in dem Gebäudekemplex, ist im 4.Stock(obersten) an einem großen öffentlichen Platz, Piazza Dante. Man muss mit einem Fahrstuhl, 20cent pro Fahrt, ab 19 Uhr kostenlos, in den 3. Stock und dann das letzte Stockwerk zu Fuß, dann eine Tür öffnen, über eine gemeinschaftliche Dachterrasse, welche von einer alten Dame und ihrem Hund mitbenutzt wird, laufen und kommt dann erst zu seiner Unterkunft. Es ist praktisch eine Wohnung mit mehreren Zimmern auf der Dachterrasse im 4. Stock. Die Seitengassen sind nicht zu empfehlen, am besten immer die Hauptstraße nutzen. Gemma (Besitzerin) ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und ist jederzeit für einen da. Service wirklich top. Fazit: Neapel hat uns leider nicht gefallen.

Utmärkt värdinna i centrum av Neapel

Boendet låg nära allt. Gemma hjälpte till med allt och hon blev som en vän till slut. Mörkt och hyfsat tyst när man skulle sova trots centralt läge.

Super séjour !

Nous avons passé un super séjour de 7 nuits chez Gemma. La localisation proche du centre historique et des quartiers espagnols est excellente et permet de visiter toute la ville à pied. Gemma est très accueillante, de très bons conseils sur les visites, les restaurants... Son français est parfait et permet des échanges que nous avons beaucoup appréciés. L'hébergement est très propre, les petits déjeuners personnalisés très bons. Nul doute que si nous revennons à Naples ce sera ici!
