Ocean View Home With Large Yard, A/c, Hot Tub, Walk To Sandy Beach, Pets Ok

  • The main home has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, while the additional guest cottage (not attached to the home) is efficiency style with 1 full bed, 1 twin bed and a 1/2 bath with an outside shower. The property is cottage style with central air conditioning, a fully equip kitchen with dishwasher, washer dryer, deck with furniture sand 6 person hot tub, and has a large yard fenced from the road that is ideal for family gatherings. The home is walking distance to the Point Judith Lighthouse, the beach, surfing areas, a fishing pier, boat launch for kayaks, canoes, jet skis, etc. Within a minutes drive are restaurants, ice cream, and nightlife. The back guest cottage is only available for use May through October. Sheets and towels are at the house for guest’s convenience- there is NO laundry service, guests are responsible for washing and drying all linens that they use prior to departure. Max occupancy of 7.

Perfect for us

Our stay was terrific. We appreciated the owners rushing to get the hot tub installed in time for our stay. It was fun to take a hot tub in the middle of a snowstorm!

Close to the beach!

Great location with easy access to Camp Cronin beach with great views, long jetty you can walk out on, and sandy beach. Point Judith lighthouse is a 5 minute walk. Nice hikes up in Narraganset.

Location great house not clean

The location was great and the house was cute. But the house was very dirty we had to sweep and mop floors the night we got there. And wipe down all countertops

Great location, great house!

We've stayed here a few times in the past and always have a wonderful time. The location is perfect, directly across from the beach. Lots of yard for lounging when not at the beach. The small cottage in the back is great for kids or just people who may want to be a bit more private.

Weekend get away.

Although we dealt with what was left of Hurricane Ian we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Plenty of he Rest seafood restaurants in close proximity, as well as Newport and a visit to University of RI campus.

Location, location!

My family and I had an incredible vacation here! The location of this home is spectacular!! What made our trip even better is being able to bring our two dogs and the large, clean yard as well as the dog beach across the street from the house! We spent a lot of time in the hot tub with views of the ocean! Also any time I contacted the host, I received a prompt response. Look forward to coming back here next year!

Winter Getaway

The location is perfect to walk across the street to the beach and jetty. The lighthouse is down the road on the right. We appreciated bringing our dog. The hot tub was excellent. Thank you for hosting us.

No sandy beach

There was no sandy beach within walking distance. We took our dog but the property was not fenced in so we had to keep him tied up. We went across the street to the fishing waters and he enjoyed that. The hot tub was excellent. Our stay was nice. Couldn't get near the. Lighthouse

Relaxing and suberb location

Thank you hosts for a wonderful stay! Your beach house is charming in its own way, and we just loved the sunrise, moonrise and closeness to/views of Point Judith lighthouse every single day/night with deer abounding, and added feature of the hot tub! It was so relaxing. With that said I think it warrants mentioning that expecting guests to wash their own linens is unreasonable and unsanitary. We left before dawn for the airport. How many guests do you think really get up early enough, as we did, to do wash/dry/fold sheets /towels? Something to consider. Thank you again!

A relaxing getaway

This property was what we were hoping for, relaxing, comfortable, roomy, near the water, away from neighbors, washed with sunlight. We didnt cook ( i was on vacation, after all) but the kitchen looked well equipped. Loved sitting on the deck, reading, and looking up to see the resident rabbit. If i could change one thing, it would be to wish the cable TV options were better. Probably not first on the list if you are spending the day at the beach, but that wasnt us. I would happily rent here again

Great location and we enjoyed our mini vacation!

The only complaint I have is that I had to clean up the yard from the previous renters dog. As I also had a dog and cleaned up every time alone with what was left before us! Please if you have a dog clean up after it and not give responsible dog owners a bad name!

The location of the house was amazing . It was located within driving or even walking distance of multiple beaches. The house could have used a more thorough cleaning it seemed like we may have been the first stay of the season. Otherwise this was a great property for our little family. Our dog also loved the house. Be aware there are lots of ticks nearby and in the backyard. We pulled about 5 ticks off the dog during our stay. Lastly, the renters do expect you to wash, dry, and even fold any sheets or quilts used since they don't have a laundry service. The issue with that is the last day of the stay you're stuck getting up pretty early to do laundry in order to checkout by 10 am. I feel if you are expected to wash dry and fold any sheets there should be a much later checkout especially since the washer and dryer are not very large. Otherwise we loved the property, location was amazing and the renters were very responsive when messaged through VRBO.

Great location, would plan better next time

The location of this house is great. Close to the lighthouse and beach and even in winter with snow this was a fantastic location. The owners alerted ahead of time, but the hot tub was not functional while we were there which was disappointing. But what can you do?Overall, it felt that the house had its care was out of season. The Wi-Fi initially wasn’t on so the tv didn’t work, which in the winter is a good thing to have working. We had to do a sweep and clean of the house upon arrival and the beds were not made which we discovered is because of the house policy that renters are to wash, dry, and fold all the bedding and any other linens used before checkout. The washer and dryer were both going quite slow the day we were leaving, we contacted the owners and had to do a late check out to finish. Which delayed our 8 hour drive home. Now that we have a better idea of what to expect, we would come back but plan differently for the trip.

Spectacular long weekend

The house is small but definitely big enough for the 3 of us and 2 dogs. The place was clean and the location was spectacular. Comfortable beds and the yard was great for the dogs and humans as well. I read the reviews so I brought all my needed items for cooking. Gas stove and oven. 3 of the 4 burners needed to be lit manually. We enjoyed the hot tub. The owner has several areas on their property with cameras, just fyi:-) The area really is so beautiful. We enjoyed going across the street and walking at the ocean. There were several surfers there. The lighthouse is right down the street with a nice little park. We had daily deer visitations in the yard. About a half an hour to downtown Newport and we enjoyed the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The showers had good water pressure but the water does not get hot but it’s definitely warm. Not complaining, just saying. We have been visiting this area for 5 years this time of year and this is our overall favorite. Location is 5 stars. Thanks Chuck and Emily for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us!

Beautiful, But Needs Upkeep.

Before anyone starts reading this review, please just know I am writing this with the utmost consideration of the hosts and future guests. The location, backyard, and close beach access were huge pluses for our stay. Overall, the impression we got was that the hosts have a lot of properties, so that they may not check in with this one as much as is needed. The place itself needed more cleaning, there were dead bugs in a lot of places, and almost every chair outside was covered in bird excrement. This could've been an easy fix in my opinion if someone just sprayed them off quickly. We met the cleaners of the property, and they were very considerate people. It seems as though things needed just one more diligent look over. The appliances need updating. In order for the microwave to work, you have to unplug it and plug it back in. The oven does not turn on right away, but even after 20 minutes or so, it did not even become hot in any capacity, which made cooking difficult. We also had issues with the dishwasher starting.The wifi password was not the same on the fridge, we could not readily log into Netflix. The hot tub was overflowing and murky upon our arrival. The hosts were very communicative and fixed all of our issues promptly, which we appreciated. I think for the price, you're paying for the location, but the property itself needs some upgrading and more diligence for guests.

Great location, very disappointing house

As promised, the location was great and the outside of property very good. Inside had a ripped up old couch to sit on that sunk down so much was almost impossible to get back up. Not even shower curtains just shower liners covered with mold. Bed box springs filthy though mattresses OK. Someone previous had run dishwasher, never emptied it, and water in the dishwasher smelled moldy. A LOT of put off maintenance on this house. Roof missing multiple shingles, a lot of which were laying in the yard. Had to call owner for bed linens and towels which she supplied. Missed that part in rental contract and as we were flying in from Florida would have had to pay an extra $60 for baggage to bring in linens. Spoke to chamber of commerce in the area and they said most rentals DO supply linens and towels. Owner had to call someone to get heater working and TV didn't work for several hours. Owner was responsive but overall we were all disgusted over the condition of inside of house. Our family that came with us made it clear they considered it a rip off and were very unhappy with my choice in lodging. Love the area and will be back but not to this rental.

Horrible description of place

First we check in and the lock box was so hard to open, but after 5 min freezing and pitch dark as we are trying to open it the lock box finally got in. The place was not like the pictures. Smell was nasty , Dog hair all over the place it was so gross. Couches , beds and all over the floors and hair in the bathtubs , wall were in terrible condition, and the bedroom had make shift old left over tables not dressers. Let’s talk about this dirty sayings couch that is clearly not a couch that the cushions don’t fit. Back breaker. We had to clean and sanitize everything bc it was clearly not cleaned . As for no refunds that to me is ridiculous. When i chatted with the host they were rude as can be. bc i put one guest and staying why did i say we and i go i booked not pressing it and then she or he states how do they know i am not 20 people . Really ! I question the house cleanliness and u are asking if i am 20 people we are family people and why should we clean it’s should be cleaned so don’t state it on your site things are cleaned . Ridiculous We left there sneezing and grossed out. The only good thing is nice land, lighthouse , water but other then that’s hell no! I made a complaint to them and vrbo asking for partial refund and the owners had nothing to say. I will never rent from them again and i use vrbo a lot and this was a bad one. I have pictures to show the mess. I am disputing the charges. Very unhappy we were. I think this place is more for them to make money and they don’t care about it. It would be so much nicer if they would put money into this house updating , changing furniture, scrubbing it down and a little paint will help this house . It’s a shame it’s so run down. Oh not to mention cottage. I wasn’t using it but curios that is not a cottage it’s a shed. Scary by far most. So don’t say cottage say 2 by 4 storage area. I
