Great family vacation house within a short walk to Scarborough state beach. The house was very clean and laid out nicely with a large deck for relaxing with family. We had a great stay and would come back again.
Our stay was fantastic! With two families, we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy all the home had to offer. Very clean, well stocked with wonderful back deck to hangout on. With a short walk to the beach and quick drive to either Newport or the Block Island Ferry, our visit to Narragansett was great.
Stayed for a long weekend and wish we had more time. Location is convenient to beaches. House was clean and comfortable. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.
My son and his family loved it, loved all of it and want to rent again next year, perhaps even off-season later if available. I found these hosts to be the most welcoming I've met in many years.
I would rent this house again! Very clean, close to the beach. They left us plenty of towels and the beds were all made with clean sheets. We walked to the beach everyday. I was very happy with this. Only suggestion is to throw an iron and a hair dryer in the place, but that’s it, great time, great house!
Beautiful house! It has everything we needed and fit our family perfectly. Has a wonderful, comfortable sectional in the living room and a very nice sized dining room table. Kitchen was great. Deck has great tables and chairs with plenty of shade. The front patio is very nice and a great place to read, have coffee or a cocktail. The bedrooms all have nice queen sized beds. Check-in was a breeze. Kathy and John are such nice hosts and were extremely accommodating. Can’t wait until next year!!
Overall good review. The guest/ info book was on the bottom shelf near the front door. In a folder, not titled. Needed info in there because the WiFi info on our text was incorrect and we couldn’t get into WiFi. Just happened to find this folder so we could then get WiFi. Would suggest that that this folder be more visible to guests as it had other house info in it. A few spots I had to clean, but overall the house was clean. A beautiful, spacious house.
It was another wonderful and memory-making stay at Kathy and John's house. Kathy is always very responsive and attentive to any questions. It is clean, well-kept, all amenities work and lots of space to invite friends or family for a visit. This house is well-worth the asking price for a week rental and gives anyone the closeness of beaches, the activity of nearby restaurants a short distance away at The Pier or Galilee, or a short trip to Matunuck for beach bars and New-England renown Theatre By The Sea with many classic musicals the pack the house at all performances every summer. For the adverturers, it's a nice, cozy place to return after a day in Newport, Providence, Boston or Mystic at the Village, Seaport or Aquarium.
It is a true treasure in the landscape of rentals in South County.
Rhode Island natives now out of state visiting for a wedding! Our children ages 6, 4, and 2 made some great core memories in our old stomping grounds. Easy walk to the beach for us and amazing backyard for them to play! Would definitely come back.
My friends and I stayed here for our weekend girl’s trip and had a blast! Only 30 minutes from Newport. We spent most of our time at the house hanging out on the lovely back porch.
Overall house was really nice and in a good location. However, upon arrival it looked like it was not cleaned thoroughly following previous guests. Not all rooms/bathrooms had towels or bath mat.
We got to RI earlier than expected, so we had lunch at Iggy's, and then went to the lighthouse and Fisherman's Memorial to kill time. After contacting Kathy (John was named in the text) we were able to get into the house a little earlier. The rental was very nice and clean and in a beautiful neighborhood. We drove to the beach our first day there, but the next day there was a line of cars halfway up Burnside, so we walked down instead. It wasn't a bad walk so we continued do so for the rest of our trip. Needless to say we spent more time at the beach and surrounding areas than at the house, but when we were there it was very comfortable. We'd definitely rent again.
