Waterfront private quiet family home, 15 min from Lake Winnipesaukee

Relaxation, stress free living and having fun with friends & family is what vacations are all about. Welcome to the "Happy Place." Book a stay at this quiet, relaxing waterfront home in New Durham and enjoy the solitude, peacefulness and experience the lasting memories you'll have at this 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home situated on a waterfront lot. Spend the day hiking nearby trails, swimming, fishing, paddle boat and canoeing from our private beach or take a short drive to Lake Winnipesaukee, Wolfeboro, and nearby shopping at "The Ridge." At the end of the day, enjoy the breathtaking sunsets from the porch as you relax and plan for the next day's adventures. The property is located a short drive from Gunstock Mountain Resort for all your winter fun.
The home sleeps 10 and is well suited for family getaways, with plenty of activities & games for the kids including badminton, ladder toss, corn hole and horseshoes. Indoor games include puzzles, board games, and pool table. Free Wi-fi, smart TVs, washer/dryer on site with fully equipped kitchen including stainless steel appliances, coffee maker, flatware, dishware, toaster, and microwave.
Property is centrally located to many of New Hampshire's favorite tourist attractions such as Weirs Beach, Gilford Entertainment Center, hiking at Mount Major, and Alton Bay where the Mt. Washington will give you a great trip around Lake Winnipesaukee.
During the winter and early spring, the property is located a short 20 minute drive from Gunstock Mountain Resort. The Resort has plenty of winter programs for the entire family. They have 49 trails, 8 lifts, cross country, night skiing and programs for children 4 and up including ski lessons. Visit www.gunstock.com for all the details. After an active day, you know you'll be back at the "Happy Place" awaits you to provide that peaceful, quiet, relaxing setting that you deserve. It makes for a great fun-filled weekend for the entire family!!!

Perfect weekend

From start to finish we had such an amazing stay. The property was even better than advertised, the pictures although gorgeous cannot capture what the property is. We will be renting again as everyone had such a great time. We were close enough to see what we wanted to see but honestly we could have stayed at the property the entire time there was plenty to do and see. Looking forward to returning!!

Amazing week away

Can’t even put into words of how perfect this house is. The home is fully equipped with everything you need for a fun and relaxing vacation. Truly feels like a home away from home with comfortable furniture and beds, necessary appliances, indoor and outside games, and more. It is very private, yet close to many different attractions and things to do. It was the perfect size for our family of 6 adults and 1 child (could easily sleep even more). The house had many different things to do, see, and places to relax. You can tell the home is truly loved and cared for. The home was extremely clean, and the owners were responsive and had great hospitality. Thank you for sharing your Happy Place with us, we can confidently say it served as our Happy Place as well for the week. Will definitely be renting here again!

Amazing family vacation

What a fabulous home, property, and host! Paul was a prompt, thoughtful, warm communicator from the time of our booking nearly a year before our arrival. We appreciated his willingness to answer our nuanced questions. The home was beautiful, light-filled, and spotless. It was extremely well stocked with toiletries, towels, dishes, cookware to make full meals, and so much more. He really thought of everything. Additionally, we can’t thank Paul enough for the thoughtful touches, like the S’mores treat. The kids absolutely loved them - almost as much as they adored being able to play in the water and on the private sandy beach. The views of and cool breeze fromMarch’s pond were extraordinary. We can’t wait to return to this one-of-a-kind wooded paradise. Thank you for everything, Paul!

Beautiful Lakefront Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely lakefront home! The house is big, clean, comfortable, and very well maintained, and the outdoors is amazing - beautiful and with lots of spots to relax on the porch, in the hammocks, and of course on the beach. We appreciated how quiet and peaceful the lake is, it made our trip really feel like a getaway. We also had a fun time trying out the different boats. Paul and Lynn communicated everything very clearly, and everything is labeled in the house which is super helpful. We wished we could have stayed longer and would definitely come back!

Best vacation ever

This gorgeous house on a beautiful lake has everything you could ask for for a perfect vacation getaway. The clean, sandy private beach is perfect for kids and adults to swim and enjoy the canoes, paddle boat and paddle boards that are provided by the hosts. There are not one but two hammocks by the water, and plenty of cozy seating inside for everyone to find a spot, and on the porch for viewing the incredible sunsets over the lake. Paul and Lynn were highly responsive before and during the stay and made sure that everything was perfect at their Happy Place. Kids enjoyed the pool table and the crayons and s'mores supplies that they provided. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Relaxing Waterfront Getaway- 5 stars!

Really beautiful home on the water that was quiet, spacious and very clean. Plenty of space for our two families and Nana! Really enjoyed the pool table, the two TVs (we had the Olympics on both of them!) the beach and all of the boats! Very helpful to have everything labeled. The beds were really comfortable. Paul was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Everyone loved the back porch. Hope to return for another visit next year.

The Happy Place was absolutely wonderful! We had everything we needed at this well-maintained property. The lake was quiet and we had many gorgeous sunsets. We left with many family memories. Paul and Lynn are excellent hosts. We can’t wait to return again next year!

Beautiful and serene getaway!

A group of friends and I stayed at this property and we were beyond thrilled with the stunning location, gorgeous, clean and comfortable place. Every morning we woke up to have our coffee on the porch facing the lake. It is close to lake winnipesaukee and not too far from Portsmouth if you wanted to make the trip. Mostly we enjoyed cooking in and relaxing. The host was fantastic. Very proactive with communication and booking through them was easy. Highly recommend this little piece of paradise for a relaxing getaway.

Christmas Family Getaway.

Our family decided instead of gifts for Christmas, let's rent a house on the water for a few days. "Happy Place" was the perfect choice! There was plenty of space for all of us (8 adults, 1 toddler) and then some. The beach and water play items only add to the enjoyment of this awesome place. Already planning out stay for next year.

Best Place Ever

There’s no word for this house except “WOW” My family and I come to New Hampshire every year from Boston and having a great place to stay is a must. But we have never stay in a place that is so beautiful, equipped with everything that you may need. We were stunned on how many stuff that was here. The house is really the “Happy Place” I’m planning on coming here for the summer if I need a spot open. Y’all, please don’t sleep on this house. The communication with the owner was 100% and the house was 100000% I’m so thankful to find this house for my family during Christmas break. The happy place house is well taken care of and I hope the owners continue to take care of this amazing place. Thank you for the communication and having us in your beautiful place. The amount of games and ways to make memories in this house is just wow. I’m in love and this is the best place to stay with friends, family or a group of people.

Great weekend away!

What a lovely home and such nice hosts. Paul and Lynn made themselves accessible and left us a nice little note with some tasty snacks as a warm welcome. The house was spotless and very comfortable. Heaven on Earth

What a great place to stay. Paul and Lynn were amazing hosts! They always answered the phone when I called with a question. The home is absolutely beautiful! The first thing that hits you when you open the door is how amazing it smells. The rooms were perfect, the grounds were great. We really couldn't have asked for anything more from our hosts!!! A hidden gem!

My family stayed here for long Labor Day weekend and could not have had a better stay. Beautiful home and location. Incredibly clean. The pictures do not do this house and property proper justice. The sunset from the porch was one of the most peaceful things I’ve experienced in awhile. Highly recommend this hidden gem. Owners were super helpful and kind!
