Acorn cottage is a spacious one bedroom cottage with a sensitive application of traditional and modern facilities and equipped to a high standard and level of comfort. The large light and airy lounge/diner situated upstairs features a log burner to ensure you remain cosy and comfortable on cold winter evenings.
The attractive patio which is accessed from the lounge is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine -much needed after a day exploring the beautiful Devon countryside.
Centrally located in the picture postcard village of Stokeinteignhead with the benefit of a well stocked village shop and the highly rated pub 'The Church House Inn' just a stroll away.
If it's good food you like, we can recommend fabulous pubs & restaurants in the area, with excellent reviews.
We are just a short distance from Shaldon, the Teign estuary and the South Devon coast path offering some fabulous views to sea, the rolling Devon countryside and Just a 5 minute drive to the nearest beach.
Within a short drive there are several other beaches, the Torbay Riviera, golf courses & the stunning Dartmoor National Park-which is well worth a visit.
With so many places to see you really are spoilt for choice, making this charming cottage a perfect escape for couples who wish to explore this lovely area.
So make yourself comfortable, relax and enjoy a glass of wine with our compliments!

The cottage was warm and welcoming on arrival with lovely christmas decorations and a basket of goodies. The log burner was perfect for cold evenings. It was ideally positioned for sightseeing. The local pub across the road is ideal for an evening meal or just drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Lovely hosts who were very welcoming and helpful with ideas of what to do.Accommodation was clean and perfect for 2 people with everything that you needed.Village shop and pub 40 yards down the road.Very quiet location but in a good location to go out to places.Would recommend and we hope to return.

The cottage was all & more than we expected with attention to detail & everything provided to make it a home from home situated in a charming village. Property owner was very welcoming & provided lots of information on areas to visit in the locality. The local shop is incredibly well stocked & the local pub, The Church House Inn only yards along the road from the cottage was warm & welcoming serving excellent food from a wide menu meaning there was no need to travel out of an evening for a meal.

Beautiful cottage. Well equipped and exceptionally clean. A gorgeous, tranquil garden. The village was picturesque, a very handy community shop that stocked all essentials, lovely village pub and great walks. Maddy and Geoffrey were perfect hosts and the bottle of wine upon arrival was a lovely gesture. I could not fault this property and would highly recommend. Hope to revisit some day soon.

Fantastic cottage in a great location. The cottage has everything that you could need. Very peaceful location and host was fantastic, couldn't have wished for a better few days away and will definitely be returning.

The property was in a beautiful area with plenty of walks and lovely scenery. There was a small local shop in the village and a great pub just across the road which served fantastic food. This was just what we needed after a long journey.The cottage was very clean and well kept. The host Maddy was extremely helpful and left a lovely gift for when we arrived.

Nice Cottage

My wife and I spent a wonderful week in this lovely cottage.The weather during the Whitsun (Pentecost) holiday was perfect for hiking and day trips in the surrounding area. After our excursions, we enjoyed relaxing on the terrace in the afternoons. In the evenings, we often went out for dinner at the local pub – highly recommended!We also appreciated the small local shop for picking up a few groceries. While the prices are a bit higher than in a supermarket, it's conveniently located and has the most neccessary things in stock.The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. On their recommendation, we took a day trip to Dartmoor for hiking – an absolute highlight and a must for nature lovers!All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay that we would gladly recommend to others.Best regards Ludger

Friendly Cottage

We very much enjoyed our short stay at Acorn Cottage. It is a welcoming and homely place, perfectly equipped and with friendly hosts. The accommodation itself was spotless and comfortable. The lounge is spacious and has a quality woodburner, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the bedroom is airy and quiet. Excellent.I have come to realise that, for me, the best holiday accommodation has good walks available from the front door; the walks at Acorn Cottage were first rate. We parked our car when we arrived, and we drove off in it when we left; otherwise it sat on its little space and kept itself to itself. We walked the local hills and we were able to join the Coastal Path, which makes Shaldon and Maidencombe easily accessible. Well, the climbs and descents are not that easy, to be fair! The village has a well-stocked shop and a fine pub. It is a very tranquil and peaceful village, untroubled by traffic or haste.

The cottage and Village were both exceptionalWe had fantastic weather for last week in MarchOn recommendation of our host Maddy we toured the whole area around the Cottage with the sun out we found our way to Blackpool Sands just below Dartmouth, Wonderful with a lovely beach bar/ CafeThe cottage was spotlessly clean and very well laid out it was like home from home We would highly recommend

Good location

The property was perfect for a couple breakaway. Village was extremely pretty with a fantastic pub two minutes walk away. The food was home cooked and plentiful (real ales and great wine list) ate there most nights. The cottage had everything you needed and the owner couldnt have been any nicer or more accommomodating. Little village shop which had most things and the villagers were lovely. Would definitely stay again.
