"Situated in a scenic location with an unbelievable view over the surrounding mountains including mt Yufu. Very steep road up and easy to miss off the main road. Parking lot is good and was never crowded. Room was very spacious with 3 private onsens, though you’d only be using the outside ones purely for the surrounding views and sounds of nature! Yufuin Besso Shikisai Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Good place to stay."

Ryokan Hachisunoito

10/10 Excellent

"A lovely, peaceful place to stay in Yufuin, a bit outside the bustle of town but easy walking distance from the train station. The hotel is nice, the staff are very gracious, the meals were excellent, and the baths (3!) are wonderful. Highly recommended!"

GEMS YUFUIN

10/10 Excellent

"Yufuin Gems was the perfect choice for my short stay. Located one block from the train station and just a few doors from the bus station, logistics were extremely simple. It’s also .6 km from the West trailhead for Mount Yufu, the reason for my trip. Walking through Yufuin from the hotel is an ease. The room was very large, extremely clean. The bath was a shower and a huge comfy soaking tub, which was handy after my nine mile hike. Downstairs the check-in desk also serves as a really cute cafe/bar staffed by the nicest and most helpful workers. If I ever travel to Yufuin again, I’ll stay at Gems!"
