This bright and spacious 2 bedroom house is only two miles from Norwich train station and a 10 minute drive from the city centre, and yet you’ll feel like you’ve been dropped off at a countryside retreat. The modern open-plan living space overlooks a shared walled garden leading down to the river. Perfect for guests who are just in Norwich for a few nights and need easy access to the city, but also a great spot for a quiet and secluded break.
The space
Unusually, this house is perfect for both nipping into the city centre and also for relaxation. The interior is bright, full of light, and decorated with care and attention to detail.
Open Plan Living Room + Kitchen
Under floor heating. Modern kitchen with large Rangemaster and all the basics you’d need to cook plus a coffee machine and milk brother. Large pine dining table with accent lighting and bifolds overlooking the garden and river. Comfy sofa and TV with DVD player and plenty of DVDs to borrow. Reading corner with lots of books and board games.
Downstairs Toilet
Small toilet under stairs, where you’ll also find a washing machine/dryer.
Master Bedroom
Large relaxing master bedroom with king size bed, comfy cushions and textiles.
Small Bedroom
Single bedroom with trundle bed that can also be made up. Please note that access to the en-suite bathroom will be disrupted by an extra bed being made up as it is a small room!
En-suite bathroom
This bathroom serves both bedrooms via jack-and-jill doors. Great powerful shower.
Patio
Very large patio with outdoor dining set and BBQ, entirely for private guest use. Guests are welcome to use the river decking on the right hand side of the garden.
Guests also have access to a shared garden - we live next door and the garden is separated by a large shed and shrubs.
Parking
Free parking on the street outside. There are often spaces available in the lay-by opposite the house. Please note that you cannot park in front of the Sea Scouts entrance.
Pets
Please note that we do allow small, well-behaved dogs on request but do have the following rules:
- The guest accepts liability for the cost of any damage (however unlikely)
- Dog bowls stay on the rubber mat provided to avoid damage to the wooden flooring
- Dogs remain on a short lead in the garden (as we have cats) and all dog waste is picked up and disposed of
Guest access
The whole house is at your disposal with the exception of the garage, which will be locked. Guests are very welcome to visit the river by walking through our family garden.
Other things to note
Guests must accept liability for small children by the river. Please be careful on the decking, it can be slippery.
